The loud scream echoed through the walls of the house. Billie's parents stumbled around the house and opened Billie's room's door. Billie was sitting on his bed with his mouth opened wide from which was coming the high pitched scream and was pointing at his cupboard.

His parents only exchanged worried gazes as they walked up to their son and sat beside him on his bed. They assured him again and again and his dad walked up to the cupboard and opened it, showing that there was nothing inside but Billie kept on stuttering in fear that he just saw a monster coming out of the cupboard. His parents laid him down and put the sheets over him. They sat with him until he fell asleep and then they walked back to their room.

It's been a week since this is happening. Every night at midnight, Billie will wake up his parents by his loud screams and mention a monster that doesn't really exist....

Well, that's what his parents believe......

Lauren crawled out from under the bed. Once she stood up with her four legs straight and her six arms by her side, her hair covering half of her face, she stared at the smirking monster in front of her.

"CUT IT OUT ALREADY! How long are you going to scare that kid?"  She barked at him.

The almost human-like monster except with his hair-full upper body and four legs, Brandt's smirk changed into a frown "As long as I want, dear"

"That's why you will never have someone dear...dear" She sneered at him.

His expression suddenly changed into a dark and sad one. He looked down for a moment before looking back at her with a painful smile "I know that, very well. Monsters don't have kids like him,...." He averted his gaze towards the sleeping Billie with Lauren's gaze following his "Or someone dear....dear" He said before going back inside his cupboard without giving Lauren a glance.

Lauren pondered upon her words and was now feeling sorry for the only monster she has in her life.

3 days later

It's been 3 peaceful days for Billie and his parents, but not for Lauren. Since the incident 3 days ago Brandt hadn't came out of his cupboard. Lauren felt guilty for what she said, but she didn't had enough much courage to approach him.

With guilt reaching her most, she sighed as she was standing outside Brandt's cupboard.

It was 7pm and Billie was having dinner with his parents. Monsters have the quality that humans can only see them when they want to be seen.

Knocking wasn't a thing of monsters, so Lauren directly went through the cupboard. Inside was enough space for 4 human kids but only 2 monsters can fit inside.

Brandt who was sitting in deep thought put on a fake smile as he saw Lauren "Welcome"

Lauren sat beside him without saying anything. Both sat beside each other in silence.

Lauren cleared her throat "Nice cupboard"

Brandt chuckled "Yup, really good, comfy, where you can live forever...alone"

Lauren looked at his side of face as he was looking straight "Are you......" She trailed off. Brandt looked at her and nodded for her to go on "Brandtareyouupset?" She said, altogether.

Brandt laughed a bit, making her shoulders ease as the tense atmosphere slightly fade away "No Laura (nickname). I'm not upset.... What you said that day was...true. We monsters can't leave our spot or we'll be good as dead" He said and his head hung low.

Lauren took in his words and once again remembered the tough truth "Yeah.." She sighed.

Brandt looked at her as she was now lost in thoughts. He knew that she knew this and bringing it up will only cause more pain to them "It's good"

Lauren looked at him, puzzled on his remark.

He looked at her and smiled "As long as you're here with me, then it's good"

From a shock one to a bright smile was Lauren's reaction "Yeah. Or else you'll be bored to death"

Instead of chuckling Brandt remained quiet "I mean it"

Lauren felt the nervousness coming again as she couldn't read Brandt's face, but Brandt read her face. He held her two hands from her six hands and looked with his dark green eyes into her ruby red eyes.

"I love you, Lauren...... And you're the dear one I have"

Lauren was star struck. Suddenly the small cupboard felt like heaven to her and the time seemed to stop.

"I love you too, dear."
