                                                                                                                                                                                                CHAPTER ONE

'BEEP! BEEP! -puttin' my defenses up 'cause I don't wanna fall in love- BEEP! BEEP! -I think I'd have a hear attack!- '

I suddenly come to when I hear my alarm go off. Smiling to myself, listening to the song as it continues to play aloud, filling my bedroom, as the sun peaks through the blinds. I then say to myself.."good morning, demi." I let out a soft laugh, reaching for my phone, turning it off. Letting out a slight sigh, I tiredly remove my covers and make my way to the door, leading to downstairs. Taking each step, slower and slower, trying to remember what day it is..I must of been really out of it, last night.

"GOOD MORNING, LINDSEY!" Suddenly a voice rings in my ear from, of course, who else? my annoying older brother, Connor. Covering my ears, I say to him with my quite morning voice, which is my only voice. "Must you?"

"OF COURSE LINDSEY! ITS MY JOB!" He responds, not losing his pitch.

I sit down at the kitchen table, with bothersome Connor sitting aside from me and my father sitting across from me. Belieive it or not, reading the newspaper. Can you believe it still exists? Like most dads, least I hope so, he's umm, old school?

"SO, HOW'D YOU SLEEP?!" still drawing it on.

"OK, Connor, I think you made your point," said my mom, placing a plate of eggs and bacon in front of me. As Connor lets out that goof of a smirk across his face. Rolling my eyes, I say, "Thank you, Mom."

'You're welcome, Lins." She says as she pours my orange juice.

Watching the citrus pour into my glass infront me, I ask, " Uh, what day is is?"

"It's saturday. Have a good night, last night??" Answers my father, as he so perfectly folds the paper.

"Yeah, if you call, a good night packed with essays and school assignments, then yeah, it was entertaining." Letting out a trying smile, towards him, as he just responds with a satisfying grin. He adores how hard I work on school, more than my social skills.

It becomes quite for a while, when the news channel starts to blare. My mother turning up the volume, which shows she's interested.

"In current news, the teenage girl abductor captures another girl, late last night at Aurburn and Wheat Avenue. She was walking home alone and was taken with no clear wittnesses, for there was a full crowd to where she was taken. More on this story as the investigation continues."

The tv suddenly appearing black, showing all of us at the kitchen table. My mom turning it off, looking heart broken from the news. It remained quite, as we continued to eat. No one felt the need to say anything, even my obnoxious brother.

I can't believe that another girl was taken, and in my city, my age. I was scared for those girls. That kidnapper took so many inncoent lives, and no one can find him. It made me furious. I tried to get my mind off of it. My phone then gave off a vibration and small ring, it was a notification that Demi was in town!! Performing at the Philips Arena! I was letting out the biggest smile on my face, that can my shown, from a mile away.

Breaking the silence, "What are you smiling about?" asks my brother putting his bowl in the dishwasher.

"Nothing." I answer placing my phone face down on the table. My mother then picks it up looking at the screen.

"Oh No." she says calmly, as she goes on to chew her breakfast.

"What is it Carrie?" My fathers asks, curiously.

"Guess who's in town."

Mom, dad and Connor share a look of familiarity.

"Why are you looking at eachother, like that?" I aks generally to them.

"Demi Lovato is in town?" Connor says, knowingly with his eyebrows raised.

"Yes," I saw bowing my head down with a slight smile.

"I'm assuming, you would like to go to this concert." says Carrie.

"Yeah." I start to say, hoping she's not already made a choice or not to let me go.

I continue, with a reassuring tone, "It's on tuesday, I'll be going with Lydia, you know how responsible she is. " My mom remains silent, finishing her breakfast, but nods occasionally.

'Don't believe it, Mom." interrupts Connor as he sits at the counter blindly looking at his phone. He's always looking at that thing. Why? Cause he's the social butterfly in the family. Plus he's got girls falling over him like leaves on an autumn day. What do the girls even see in him? Beats me.

Ignoring his words, I talk again, "..and I'll stand by her side the whole time. I'll be careful." giving her the cutest begging smile I could, "pleease."

She looks over at me, with a smirk, and says," Promise you'll be careful?"

"Promise."

"And you'll have your phone on at all times?"

"On like a light switch." I reply.

That made both my parents laugh a little. Mom and dad both exchange looks. Still holding that cuteness factor, along with my fingers crossed. My mom and dad didn't even need to speak to know that they're on the same side of the situation. Finally giving me an answer, for what feels like hours, my dad says, "Your mom and I agree on letting you go.."

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so--"

"If." he interrupts me. Shoot, the catch. "Your brother goes with you as well." He finshes cross folding his arms, happy with their decision.

"Wait, what?" says Connor coming back to reality, from his phone. Jumping off the counter top.

"Ar-are you serious?? Connor?!" I ask them.

"Yes. You saw the news, I don't want two girls by themselves at some concert with that killer on the lose." My mom answers, sternly.

Trying to understand where she's coming, I agree. "Fine."

"Hold up, I'm not okay with this. Mom! Dad!" He says refusing to this plan.

"There will be millions of girls there.." I say reeling him in. I continue, "..that probably have no idea who you are, and want to date you. "

Seeing that light bulb go on, he agrees. "I'll do it. " he says leaving the room, continueing to text.

"Yes!" I say with a fist pump. Running toward my parents. "Thank you, so so much! I Love you, you have no idea how much this means to me. " Hugging them, with all my strength and exitement. I leave the room before they could say another word.

Walking up the stairs, it starts to hit me. I'm finally going to see the person that saved me, that helped me, that was there for me when no one else was, my hero. My dream is finally coming true and in less than four days! Not only am I going to see her in concert but I'm going to MEET HER! Face to face, eye to eye. The feelings start to hit like a flash of colors, the feelings of exitement, nervousness, fear, and happiness. With each step towards my room, means more seconds fading away to see Demi. Tuesday could not come sooner.
