Salem POV
"I have good news, class!" The teacher said excitedly. We all groaned. Normally when teachers say 'Good news' they normally mean 'Extremely boring news'.
"For all of us!" She quickly added upon seeing the reaction of the students.
"Everyone is going on a vacation! Not a field trip, don't worry. WE ALL GET TO GO HOME!"
Everyone cheered, including me. It's been months since we last saw our families. I wonder how my parents are doing? They probably still don't care about me and Vixy.
Vixy. I hadn't seen my sister since I started middle school. She would always be in her room arguing with our parents and she never shows her face when I'm around. I hope she got over our parents.
~lunch~
"Hey, can I stay at your house this break?"
"Sure! I mean, if my dad's allowed to have his girlfriend over, why aren't I allowed to bring a friend over? For about two weeks?"
"There's no one for me at home. My parents and my sister normally come back at like midnight and leave at 6:00. They sleep during the day at work. Well, my sister I don't know about. So I'm completely alone and they don't care."
"Awh, poor Salem. Sure, you can stay with us! I've got two king sized beds, so there's plenty of room."
My bedroom's pretty big, enough to hold two queen beds and still have a lot of space. My parents are rich because they spent a lot of time at work.
Hers is even bigger.
As we talked about vacation, about 20 people (at least) attempted to join us.
Skylie declined all of them. Why am I so special? What is it about me that she likes?
~On the bus~
I stared out the window and sighed. Skylie had her dad to pick her up. I had no one. He had offered to take me to her house, but I declined. I thought it might be time to make up for the times missed with my family.
Time to see my sister again.
