Jess's POV

"It's getting pretty late. The game should be starting soon. I think we better head over to Bella's." Niall suggested.

"How did you know I was going there?" I questioned him.

"Bella told me."

"Well, I think we are ready to go. What do you think Brayden?" I smiled at my son who sat beside me playing with all the junk he got from winning tickets that Niall eventually won for him. After our long talk we decided Brayden's game skills weren't gonna cut it to get tickets so we joined in. I checked my phone to see that I had three new texts from Jake and two missed calls and voicemails.

Jake~ I'm sorry I was out of line. Please just come home.

~I'm so sorry I don't want to fight I want to see your beautiful face and our sons handsome one.

~Please just tell me where you are going so I won't be worried sick all night.

Me~ I'm staying at Bellas for the night. See you in the morning.

Jake's POV

I jumped at the sound of my phone recieving a text and I check my long waited text from Jess.

Jess~I'm staying at Bellas for the night. See you in the morning.

I knew I should trust her but there was a still a sneaking suspicion that she could also be staying at Niall's.

I dialed Bella's number and the phone ringed three times before I picked up.

"Hello?" She said into the phone. I heard cheering in the background.

"Hey it's Jake. Um... is Jess there?" I asked cautiously.

"No... oh wait she just walked in!" She cheerfully said.

"Okay. Thank you. Please don't tell her I called." I pleaded.

"Of course not. Is everything okay between you two?" She questioned.

"Just a fight. We'll be fine as soon as she comes home to talk it out." She made sure I was okay before saying goodbye and hanging up.

It was stupid of me to think she would be anywhere but where she said. She wouldn't lie to me. Am I right?

Bella's POV

As soon as I got off the phone with Jake I called Jess.

"I just lied to my best friend to save your ass." I said once she said hello. "Where the hell are you?" I asked.

"I'm on my way with Brayden. I will see you in a few and we can talk later." I could hear her choking back tears.

"We also have to talk about why you called Niall instead of me." I laughed before saying goodbye and hanging up.

I went into the living room to continue watching the game with everyone. It was about ten minutes later the doorbell rang. I got up to get it and as I opened the door I revealed Niall and Jess laughing at something Brayden did. I was rendered speechless as it reminded me of so many times they would show up to mine and Harry's apartment looking just like this. Carefree and almost childish, but still so in love. No. That isn't what they look like. Jess has a husband and that little boy isn't theirs it's hers.

"Earth to Bella. Are you going to let us in?" Niall asked smiling.

"Yeah I'm sorry I was just thinking."

"About?" He asked me.

"It's not important. Just some old crap."

"It wasn't crap it was the best year of my life." Niall stated matter of factly.

"That's not what I was.." I started but Jess cut me off.

"Yes it was and it's fine. Memories are good." She wasn't so sure of herself but she tried to act put together.

"Yeah. Well come on in ill put your stuff in the guest bedroom and you can say hello to everybody.

Jess's POV

"You know what, why don't I come with you Bella and bring Brayden to the kids." I suggested. Niall frowned but continued into the living room where his friends cheered as he walked in. "This is weird. I shouldn't be here with him. I shouldn't have called him and I shouldn't have given him the opportunity to make me feel like I used to." We walked into the guest bedroom and I set down my overnight bag.

"You are a married woman and he respects that."

"He didn't even try to make me feel like that. I finally understand why I loved him so much. He can make me laugh when I'm crying. He can make me smile when I'm frowning. He can make me feel special just by saying my name. He can make my heart melt by looking into my eyes. He listens like he's hearing the most beautiful song ever and he knows exactly what to say all the time. The way his jawline is so cut and chiseled and his blonde brown hair falls in his eyes. The way his arm flexes when he opens the door for me." I sighed as I threw myself onto the bed.

Niall's POV

Harry sent me to go get Bella because he was feeding Bree, Ayden, and Brayden, but I also willingly went because that would mean I would find Jess.

I walked down the hallway to the guest bedroom and stopped outside the door as they were talking.

The way his arm flexes when he opens the door for me." She sighed.

I shouldn't be listening, but I couldn't stop.

"This is stupid I feel like a 13 year old girl who can't control her emotions. Did I love him? Hell yes. Do I love him? A part of me does and sometimes I feel like I'm not strong enough to stop that part." I cleared my throat as I revealed myself in the doorway. I knew if I would continue to listen I wouldn't be able to stop myself from responding. Her head snapped up and she looked at me with a mortified expression. "How much did you hear?"

"Enough." I stated simply. "Harry needs you in the kitchen Bella." She nodded and looked at Jess who also nodded. She slowly made her way outbound the room and I watched her go. "I'm not here to break up you and Jake. I'm not here to make you fall in love with me, but I need to know one thing." She nodded for me to continue. "If you could go back..." She interrupted me.

"Niall Horan that is the stupidest thing you have ever asked me. You don't think if I could go back to that night I would change absolutely everything about it. I wouldn't have even went to that stupid party. If you don't think I don't regret what I did to you every single day of my life and think about different everything would be then your fucking insane. But that doesn't give you the right to come back into my life and make me hate myself even-" I stopped her right there and I couldn't even help myself, but to kiss her. She was hesitant at first before she kissed me back even deepening the kiss. As crazy as it sounds I'm the one who pulled away.

"I'm so sorry. That was so out of line." I breathed pushing my hair back.

"Niall don't do that." She pleaded.

"What?"

"Dont push your hair back in that frustrated way that you do. You know i love that. Don't blame yourself for anything that happened just now. It couldn't have felt better." I smiled at her before she gave me a quick.kiss on the cheek and whispered, "I'm sorry." She walked out of the room leaving to follow her like a lost puppy. She walked into the living room and everyone cheered at her arrival before realizing I was right behind her. They all looked a bit shocked, but tried to act like everything was normal.

"This should be fun." Zayn said with a chuckle as I sat down beside him.
