I sat on my bed, sketching my window in the peace of an empty house when I heard the familiar squeal of the quinjet. It glided along the gravel driveway in front of our house, the turbines throwing small pebbles on the lawn bordering each side. The defining sound of whirling air slowly calms as the jet comes to a halt, letting everything return to it's previous, un-bothered state. I jumped from my bed and stumbled towards my window staring as I saw my father climb out of the belly of the jet, one of my uncled and aunts  in tow. I took a deep breath and turned on my heel to bolt for the stairs. I ran down the stairs, barely touching each of the wooden steps as I flew down and out the front door. Hearing the screen door slam behind me, I sprinted for my father, who had set his bow on the ground and stood with outstretched arms and a huge grin plastered on his face. I reached him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Hey sweetheart." He said, kissing my hair.

I kept my head buried in his shoulder so the Avengers standing behind him wouldn't see the silent tear slide down my cheek, I could not look like a weakling in front of them. But I quickly regained my composure and lifted my head to look at my father.

"I missed you Dad," I started, "Your home early!" My voice cracked, tears rimming my eyes as I pulled away to look at my father. He looked upset.

"Y/n, I need you to come with us." He paused looking to the ground. "Your mother was taken hostage by hydra and I want you to come live at the tower for a while."

I couldn't hold the tears back as they silently slid down my face. Then, a warm hand encased mine, I looked up to see my auntie Nat as she pulled me into a hug.

"It's okay y/n, your mom will be fine, and you can sleep in my room if you want." Her voice always calmed me.

I sniffled as I thanked her.

Then the Captain spoke up, "Clint, we have to go. There's no time for her to pack, Tony wants us back ASAP."

My uncle James stood behind Steve and smiled when I saw him. As Auntie Nat and I walked towards him I realised her hand and gave Uncle James a huge hug.

"How are you darling? Hopefully you have not gotten into any trouble while I have been gone." His smile grew after he finished his sentance.

"Nothing that I couldn't get out of Uncle Buck." I said as a released my vibranium grip.

"That's my girl." He said.

So I walked into the jet between my Auntie Nat and Uncle James and took my seat beside Uncle Steve, and I watched out the window seeing the sun set below the clouds.

After about an hour of flying, I walked into the cockpit of the plane to find my Dad and Auntie Nat flying.

My father spoke up first, "Hey sparky, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be sleeping?"

"Dad, I'm not tired, and I was wondering if I could fly with Auntie Nat for awhile while you went and slept. Your probably exhausted." I stated.

I had been trained to fly and basic hand to hand combat when I was 13 (by Nat of course), and I had been trained in a variety of weapons like guns and nunchuks by my Uncle Bucky,  just in case. But now I am 16 and I had been practicing for close to 3 years, so I knew my way around a plane pretty good.

"Sure y/n, you can pilot." Nat said, " But I'll be right here if you need anything."

I replaced my father and took the controls as he walked out to join the rest of the Avengers in the back.

"So y/n," she paused, "Any boys I need to scare off yet?"

"Whoa! No." I said, " and let's be honest Auntie, I think my dad would scared them away just fine." I chuckled a little, I loved these talks with Nat.

"Okay, just making sure." She said as she turned forward, shifting her attention on the sky ahead.

Then a peaceful silence fell over us, it wasn't awkward, but nice and calm. I loved flying at night, it made me feel like I was one step closer to heaven, or Valhalla as Uncle Thor would say. I have always wanted to go to Uncle Thor's home, Asgard, it sounded amazing from the way he described it.

Another hour had passed and we were nearing the Avengers tower, so I radioed in and asked for Uncle Tony to open up the hatch.

"Sure thing, wait, is that y/n? Why are you flying the quinjet? Aren't you a little young to be doing that?" He scolded.

"Easy there iron man," Nat started, " She's flying with me."

"Oh yeah that makes it Soo much better." You could hear the sarcasm dripping from his voice over the com.

"Just open it up Uncle Tony, or else I'm landing this bird on the roof again" I remembered that time when he couldn't open the door so I landed the quinjet on the plexi-glass roof right over his lab and made him cause a mini arc-reactor explosion. It was hilarious.

"Alright, I surrender. The door is open."

"Thanks Uncle Tony." I sounded sickly sweet.

I slowly eased the jet into it's holding pad and went wake up the Avengers, sleeping like babies in the back with Nat.

Nat said, "You wake up your uncle Steve and James and I'll wake up your Dad. Got it?"

"Got it."

She walked over to my dad and I went to Uncle Steve.

I leaned down to Cap's ear and started singing,"Ooh say can you seeeeee.." He turned over and groaned.

"Do you really have to so that every time you wake me up?" His voice sounded like a small child.

"Yep!" I said, walking over to the open door of the jet, nudging Uncle James on the way out.

"Wha-"

"Wake up sleepy head, we're home."

Uncle Buck groaned as he made his way off of the Jet and into the facility.

I was greeted by a huge hug from Uncle Tony.

"Hey twerp," he started, "I'm sorry about your mom. We'll get her back I promise."

I had completely forgot about my mother, on the way here. But Tony just reopened a closing wound.

"Thanks Uncle Tony." I said quietly, continuing into the compound.

I threw open the glass doors to the living area and flopped down on one of the couches. Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath in.

Then, someone unfamiliar speaks in a heavy Sokovian accent.

"Uh hello"

I open my eyes and look across the room to see a silver haired boy sitting directly across from me. He must have been just a little older than me. He was taller, and muscular, but he had kind eyes.

He then spoke again, "My name is Pietro. And yours?" His accent was thick, but it was very suiting to him.

"Y/n" I replied.

"Y/n, what a beautiful name." He smiled at me and then looked down, and the whole world seemed to stop.
