Shadow was having a coronation to be crowned King of the Speed Kingdom. Usually most Princes get nervous during these types of things but Shadow is not one of them.
He shows no emotions as he was walking down the ile. When he got towards the end, He bowed slowly in front of the very nice man holding his crown.
"Prince Shadow. We are very happy to have you here with us as a prince but the true leader of this Kingdom is a King. Firstly, how does it make you feel?" Shadow looked at him.
"It's ok I guess."
"Now before I put this crown on you, will you promise to rule the Kingdom with peace, kindness, justly and wisely?"
"I do."
"Do you promise to help your subjects when needed?"
"I do."
"And finally, do you promise to protect your subjects from danger and take full responsibility of everything around you?"
"I do."
"I now pronounce you, King Shadow, Ruler of the Speed Kingdom." He placed the crown on his head as everyone cheered for him. Shadow stood up and looked at his subjects with a blank face.
Everyone continued to cheer as he watched them. A little bit later, everyone went back to their homes and Shadow returned to the Castle. He sat down on his throne and looked around. One of his friends came into the room.
"Congratulations Shadow! You're now King of the Speed Kingdom!" Sonic said.
"I know that already."
"Just trying to encourage ya."
"Why are you really here?" Shadow asked.
"To encourage you and to tell you some important news that we got today."
"Well? Out with it!" Shadow demanded. Sonic quickly grabbed his notes and cleared his throat.
"You know that there's a law that every King should have a Queen to rule their side?"
"Yeah?"
"Well someone is expecting you to find a Queen as soon as possible."
"What!? Who told you that!?"
"I-I don't know. It doesn't say."
"Well who gave that note to you?" "Just the mail deliverer sir."
"Well tell them forget it! I'm not getting a Queen. I'm perfectly capable of ruling a Kingdom by myself."
"But sir..."
"Now!"
"Yes sir." Sonic ran off while Shadow rolled his eyes. A few hours later, one of the guards zoomed inside the throne room.
"You're highness. Someone is here to see you."
"Let them in." The guard ran back and opened the gate. Suddenly, three mysterious hedgehogs came in the castle.
They were wearing a black cloak so they couldn't be seen. Shadow looked at them curiously.
"May I help you?" Shadow asked. The middle hedgehog walked forward.
"Hello your highness. We are from out of town and we just heard that you refused to accept our letter."
"So it was you!? Who are you!?"
"That's none of your concern your highness but we have something that you might be interested in to hear."
"And what's that?" The left hedgehog began to speak.
"You know it's the rules to have a Queen rule by the King's side but wouldn't it be ashamed if everyone knew that you don't want one at all?"
"It doesn't matter. I have everything taken care of."
"Then what if we told you that we have a deal to pick with you."
"A deal?"
"Yeah. You have to find yourself a Queen in two weeks or....give up your place as King." The right one began to speak.
"Yeah! And everything here will be ours!" He started laughing until the middle one slapped his head.
"Shut up!" The right one stopped talking.
"What!? You can't do that!" Shadow yelled.
"Yes we can. We have the contract." The middle one said as he held out the paper. Shadow was shocked.
"So you have two weeks to find a Queen or else you're done. Think about it for a while." The middle one said as they left the castle. Shadow just stood there until Sonic came in.
"I heard everything Shadow. What are you going to do?" Shadow thought for a minute.
"I guess it's time to go search for a new Queen."
