We had given our reports to my father and needless to say he was quite upset that the Elven Empire's best fighters were nearly wiped out. What upset me the most was his decision to disband the Ethereal Knights entirely since, and I quote, "It would be a waste of time and resources to rebuild something so outdated." I tried to get him to reconsider but all I got was being confined to castle grounds until the military reestablished order amongst the surviving population. Angelica for her human blood had been booted off world and told not to return. Apparently my father believes the demonic invasion to have happened because of allowing humans on elven soil. I spent most my time sparing Javen and Telanine.
"You know, you and Telanine are the only magic users I've seen that aren't loseing power." Javen commented as we took a break from our sparing.
"Well, most people use ethereal magic and there are other, older forms of magic." I said after a sip of water.
"If you belive the theroies that the Ethereal Plane in artaficial." Telanine scophed. She and her family were always strongly agianst the belief that the Ethereal Plane was a creation by mortals. "It's posible that we drained too much power too quickly, so our ancesters cut us off to rejuvinate."
As Telanine and Javen continued to argue my comunicator beeped. I looked down to see Angelica's ID, I'm Surprised she kept it after my father's rather rude comments on humanity. I'm still not sure why I gave her mine to be honest. Telanine kept teasing me like a little girl when I gave Angelica my ID. Once Telanine noticed my anger she fled as I attempted to catch her, occasionally creating blizzards to obscure my vision. I eventually gave up, Telanine having a smaller frame could fit in smaller places than I. I was always kind of jealous of less eye catching figure and the fact that people tended not to stare at her.
"Princess Iyrena, Queen Iydran wishes to speak with you." a guardsman anounced before saluting and rushing back to his post. Most of the guards had figured out thar despite my military background I prefered to just get things done so they just tell me what needs to be said, salute, and leave.
"Well, see ya'll later." I said, waving to my two sparing partners. Since it's early spring I decided to walk to Empyrean Corp HQ. Thankfuly this time there were no drunk humans following the more beutiful women around like idiots.
Empyrean Corp HQ was located in the capital's industrial district just outside the castle grounds. The main building stood slightly over othe eight foot wall that surrounded it and the landing area for cargo ships. The gate guards immediatly reconized me and opened the gate, leading to a recreational area filled with intersecting walkways and bridges leading though a garden of diverse plants, most native to Terra. I saw mom looking over into the plants, something she only does when she's trying to clear her head.
"I think Tanis wants to kill you." she muttered as I stood next to her. "He's just having troble convincing solders to do it."
"What do you mean?" I asked, shocked at the news.
"Those solders know you, know what you can do."
"I mean about dad."
"He's not your real father."
"What?"
She looked down to a blooming lily.
"what about this, In what dark can light live?" I asked, just now thinking of the shapeshifter's question.
"Who told you that?" She asked, apparently startled to hear those words.
"A shapeshifting dragon I met on Ethra, he scared off a black and red creature."
"Azangoth, so you two already met."
"Azangoth?"
"Your real father, I fell in love with him but it was a sort of forbidden love, one he shared. He wanted a way to make peace between demons and mortals, part of the reson you were born. You were ment to act as a treaty to quell demon attacks."
