The quill in Iris' hand flew through the parchment in front of her as she finished her Charms essay. She was supposed to write three pages and she was just about to finish the second one when an awkward cough snapped her out of her thoughts.

She looked up and tilted her head to the side a bit as she ended up face to face with the green eyed, brown haired boy from Gryffindor, who stood there beside Professor McGonagall herself.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Evans." She smiled gently.

"Good afternoon, Professor." Iris responded politely.

"I sure do hope I'm not intruding anything."

"Oh, no. Just some Charms essay, but I'm almost done anyway." She shook her head, closing her books that laid in front of her. "You need me for something?"

"Well, yes." McGonagall answered, before glancing to the boy behind her. "I've found you a tutor."

"Oh... I see." She mumbled, looking anywhere but her eyes.

"This is Mr. Lupin. Mr. Lupin, this is Ms. Evans." The woman introduced, pointing to each kid as she named them. "She'll be needing your help with Transfiguration as I told you previously." She said, turning to the boy. "A lot of it."

"It's not a lot." Iris protested, to what McGonagall only laughed. Iris huffed. "Alright... It's quite a lot."

The brown haired boy opened a sly smirk and Iris raised an eyebrow to him, with a playful glare.

"Anyway... I'll leave you two to it then." She said before turning around to leave. "Have a good day, Ms. Evans. Mr. Lupin."

And just like that, she was out of the library. Iris looked up at the boy again as he stared back down at her as well. She remembered him. From the flying lesson. They've introduced. She knew his name... Somewhere inside her messy brain, the name of this boy full of scars on his face was printed. She smiled once she remembered it.

"Sit down, Remus." She offered, as she pushed the chair in front of her with her foot.

"Thanks, Iris." He smiled back gently, as walking around the table so he could sit in the chair she just pulled for him - or rather, pushed.

"So... Are you going to help me, then?" She asked as he pulled a few books out of his bag and stared down at them.

"Yeah, apparently." He shrugged.

"You don't seem too eager."

"I'm not. Actually I'm just here for the extra points." He said, still not looking up at her.

At that, she gasped. He looked up at the sound and frowned.

"I'm joking." He clarified and she relaxed.

"Oh, right... Sorry, I should've known. You just didn't come off as someone who..."

"Jokes?" He finished her sentence with a glare at her direction and she bit her lip.

"That came out wrong. That came out terribly wrong. I'm sorry. I'm just... I'm not too good in this whole thing of making friends, I mean... I'm quite new at it."

At those words, Remus' frown visibly softened and he gave her a small smile.

"I'm too." He shrugged. "That's probably why McGonagall paired us up?"

"It's likely." Iris nodded, agreeing with his theory. "I'm really sorry, though."

"It's fine. Don't worry about it. Now... A lot of help, you said you need?"

"Yeah..." Iris mumbled, putting her unfinished Charms' essay and picked up her Transfiguration book.

"How much is a lot?" He raised an eyebrow, surprised by all the notes and extra papers hanging from her book.

"Well... Say I didn't master up how to transfigure a cup in rat just yet. How much help do you reckon I'll need?"

Remus looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She, Iris Evans, in almost three months of classes, still hadn't manage to transfigure a cup in a rat? She was still struggling with the first lesson?

"Stop looking at me like that." She whined, after a few seconds of uncomfortable staring on both ends of the conversation. "I'm hopeless, I know."

"Hopeless?" He shook his head. "I've heard a lot about you, you know? The Evans sisters. Apparently, none of the Professor has ever seen muggle borns with so much facility with magic as you and Lily seem to have. They said you're some kind of Charms' genius or something while Lily is almost as skilled as potions as Slughorn himself."

"Oh, please..." She rolled her eyes, blushing slightly. "I just managed a Wingardium Leviosa in the first try. That's all."

"That's brilliant, though." He insisted. "Not even James managed it. And he was trying to show off to your sister at the time. But she beat him to it. Three times was all it took her."

"What's with James and Lily anyway?" Iris smirked a bit, suddenly very interested on the new path of the conversation.

"I'm not sure." Remus shrugged, also smiling a bit. "I guess he just decided to pick on her from the moment he laid eyes on her."

"Hum..." Iris mumbled and Remus was suddenly very on the edge.

"He's cool, though."

"I didn't say anything." She defended. He nodded.

"Shall we... Hum... Shall we start then?"

"Sure." She answered, even if she was still quite surprised with the sudden change of humor of the boy. "Yeah, sure..."

"Well...Pick up your wand then..." He said, his voice back to its normal tone. "Let's see if you're doing anything wrong."
