"Did you do this, Potter?"

At that sharp voice that Iris knew all too well, her head shot up from her text books toward the entry of the library. She frowned at it, before looking over at Camilla. The Latina girl just shrugged. There was a bark of laughter, a sound she had started to get familiarized with during her almost seven months of flying lessons with the Gryffindors: James' and Sirius' laughs.

"Oh, come on, Evans... It's fun."

"Fun?" The girl – who now Iris was sure to be Lily – shrieked in horror. "That's your idea of fun, is it, Potter?"

"Well, yeah."

At that point, Iris was already up.

"Maybe you should just leave it." Dorcas said, grabbing Iris' hand and tugging it down, in a silent plea for her to sit back down, but she just shook her head.

"Don't worry." She said, closing her books over the library's table. "I'll be right back."

"It'll wear off."

That was – she thought – Sirius' voice. For the little she knew him, she could tell there was a mixture of amusement and annoyance in his tone. She thought that was a dangerous combination. She opened the Library's door and James' laughed echoed louder.

"Yeah... In a few days, I believe."

"Days?" Lily yelled. "Oh, I can't believe you!"

Iris followed the noise – which was not difficult at all – and as soon as she turned a corner in the end of the hallway, she gasped at the scene in front of her. As expected, James and Sirius were doubled over each other, barely standing up, laughing so hard they were clutching their stomach. Remus was a bit further down the hall, leaning against a wall with his arms crossed over his chest, but a sly smile playing in his lips, a clear sign he too was enjoying the prank. Peter was beside him, but, apparently torn between laughing with James and Sirius, and keeping a straight face with Remus, he was chuckling quietly, his shoulder's movements being the only hint of amusement in his body.

After taking the boys in, her eyes traveled a little further down the hall. There, stood Lily. Her cheeks as red as her hair, but not from embarrassment. Oh, no. From pure anger. Her green eyes, once bright and happy, were now glued on Sirius and James and they reflected a fire that Iris knew that meant nothing but trouble. Her fists were clenched beside her body and she was trying to make herself look taller or bigger, by standing in the tip of her toes. Behind her, up against the wall, was no other than Severus Snape. He was looking down, cleaning his apparently dirty robes and not meeting anyone in the eye.

"Relax, Evans." James mocked, as Lily huffed at the way he used her surname. "He's well and alive, isn't he?"

"I wouldn't go as far as saying he's well." She spat.

"Don't be so dramatic." Sirius said, in the same tone as before, as though deciding whether Lily's reaction was funny or irritating. "Look, he's already up. He's not even hurt."

"You should thank your lucky starts he's not hurt." She barked.

"Or what?" Sirius challenged.

Remus and Peter shifted uncomfortably. James stared at his best friend. Iris decided it was enough. Before Lily could open her mouth to say anything else the girl stepped forward.
