Lizz's pov
The second day of this operation, we had already gotten Mari to sit by Carl in every class she had him in. Whenever he was near she would stare, cheeks flushed and eyes fluttering.
Maybe today we could get as many things done as we did yesterday.
"Good morning and welcome to band!" Mr. Ronnie said plopping himself down in his conducting chair.
"Hey! Mr. Ronnie, are we still going to do that chair test today?" Kathleen asked, holding her trumpet in the air instead of her hand.
"Yah!..." Sierra added. "I've been practicing the G flat scale for two weeks now! And no test to use it on!"
"Damnit!" Jo and I said simultaneously.
"What's wrong Elizabeth?! You never use such language often!!" Mari said in a whisper.
"Stay in your section!" I retorted.
"Right the chair test on the G flat scale! Mari you up first!"
Mari stepped up to the "testing stand" and flunked it. She was horribly sharp, the valve fingerings she used were all wrong, and she played the d flat scale in eighth notes.
"MARNNIE BLUEROCK! WHAT WAS THAT?! HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN THE G FLAT SCALE!!" Mr. Ronnie yelled, waving his arms and trumpet lyar furiously.
"Well.....I wasn't here when you taught the G flat scale." Mari said sheepishly.
"YOU ARE A SKUNKY TRUMPET! THAT SOUNED LIKE A FART IN A BATHTUB! THE ONLY WAY YOU ARE STILL ALLOWED TO BE IN THIS BAND IS IF YOU SIT LAST CHAIR! DO YOU THINK BAND IS A JOKE?!"
Mr. Ronnie yelled. "CARL!!"
"Hi there!" Carl said as if nothing was wrong.
"PLAY THE G FLAT SCALE SO MARNNIE CAN LEARN WHAT IT IS!"
Carl played the scale perfectly and earned himself first chair, this caused Mari to see him as a hot headed show off.
RRRRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG
went the bell, and as the period ended so did my hope for this assignment.
