Right off the bat, a lot of fans said the drama was way off the novel. I never read the novel so I couldn't really compare. This drama started off great. I was watching it back to back until I felt it kinda got dragged in some parts. I loved the side stories but in the back of my mind I was still wondering about the main plot behind Fu Yao's seals. My OTP was surprisingly not the two main though hahaha 😂 I was full on team Yalan Zhu and Zhan Bei Ye. When the drama went near the end, I then felt the Fu Yao and Wu Ji vibes. This drama didn't really sweep me off my feet but it was still a good watch. Btw, if you're watching it on Viki and you also ship ZBY and YLZ... save yourself and turn off the timed comments lol.
