(Quick note: I don't own any of the charecters or anything: I'm just a regular fanfiction writer. Also, Scott may be really out of charecter in this because I just think he's too bossy sometimes.)
'It's just an avarage day on Tracy Island', Kayo Kyrano thought. 'Scott is being bossy, as per usual, and Alan and I are sat here in reserve. Just because we're the youngest, doesn't mean we can't do anything! He's always like he needs to protect us or something. Sometimes he just needs to take a rest!' She glanced over at Alan. It just wasn't fair.
Alan inwardly sighed. It felt like FOREVER since either he or Kayo had been on a mission. And they hadn't been on a mission together, just the two of them like they used to, in ages! He and Kayo were easily the closest out of all of them, as they were the youngest. And he had to admit to himself that he did kinda have a crush on her. Like, a really BIG crush on her. And his brothers were forever teasing him about it. He just didn't have the courage to tell her yet, in case he ruined their friendship. Just as he was thinking about her, Kayo stood up. "Well, I'm gonna go sit by the pool. Anyone else wanna come?"
"I'll come!" he exclaimed, a little too enthusiastically. "I mean... sure! Why not?" He could hear his brothers sniggering.

Kayo kicked of her shoes and socks and dipped her feet in the pool. She turned to Alan. "Hey, don't get too comfy! No doubt Scott is gonna fry us on his way out to save the world."
Alan smirked. "Yeah, he needs us in reserve. For what? The barbaque?"  Kayo laughed. Alan always knew how to make her laugh. That's what friends are for, right? He was so cute when he laughed... wait what was she thinking? Snap out of it Kayo! She sighed. "We're always being brushed off with supply runs, space junk duty..."
"Babysitting." Alan smirked, remembering when Kayo had once reffered to going with him in Thunderbird 3 with him as 'babysitting'. Kayo smiled. "At least babysitting is better than supply runs!" Then she rolled her eyes. "Plus, Scott can be so bossy and controlling sometimes!"
Alan laughed. "Chill out, Kayo, it's just since Dad's disappearance, he's been acting even more protective than usual. Kayo shifted slightly, uncomfortable talking about Jeff's disappearance as her uncle, the Hood, was belived responsible. Alan noticed this and put his arm around her. "Hey, what's wrong? It's not your fault."
Kayo sighed. "Yeah, but the Hood is MY uncle. I kinda feel responsible..."
"For him? Kayo, its not your fault. Your uncle may be a criminal mastermind, but who says it's your fault? You are not responsible for his actions!"
Kayo smiled. "Thanks Alan. You always know what to say to make me feel better."
Alan grinned. "What are friends for, right?" But with these words his heart sank a little. 'Friends.' He thought. 'And that's probably all we'll ever be.'
