Eliza approached the door of madam Violet and was a little surprised to see it open wide, and was even more shocked when she spotted the dress. The dress was exactly like how she asked Violet to make it, and she couldn't believe how stunning it looked as it hung on the manican.
"Eliza! Come in dear" Violet says as she noticed Eliza standing at the entry of the door, and beckons her inside. Eliza walked into the seamstress station, and Violet led her onto the standing block, before taking her dress carefully off the manican. As Violet was fitting it to Eliza's slim body, Eliza starred in the mirror while wincing when Violet accidentally poked her with the needle. However it was her own fault for moving so much.
But when Eliza had her hair in a fancy bun, with a braid through her hair to the bun, she starred smiling into the mirror as she gazed at her hair, makeup, and gown. As Violet helped her down the block, seeing as she was wearing a shoes that had a little heel, which was the closest she had ever come to wearing heels, and was struggling a little bit to walk.
Violet handed Eliza a pair of white gloves, which went down to her wrist. "It was the style of the time. Believe me." Violet says smiling sweetly, like a grandmother's eyes; they twinkled with kindness. "Thank you Madam Violet" Eliza says smiling at her, and walked out of the room before saying one more thanks.
When Eliza was walking down the corridor, heading towards the ball room doors, she was shocked to find George Newton walking towards her, seeming to be carrying a red velvet case. As she approached he stopped in front of her, causing her to stop before she bumped into him. "Monsieur Newton?" Eliza asks confused, "why aren't you in the ballroom?" she asks staring down the corridor where the wide open doors were, however it seemed it hadn't begun yet.
Monsieur Newton opened the red velvet case and held it to her, and Eliza's eyes widened as she stared at the necklace and pair of matching earrings in the case. They were simple little things, having only a light blue jewel with silver surrounding it.
"I thought they would look nice on you. I had gone into the storage basement and for some reason I got the idea for you to wear them, and perhaps keep tem. "He says simply. But Eliza smiled, knowing exactly who was behind this.
Eliza looked up at him smiling brightly, thank you monsieur Newton" she says, as she placed the case on one of the tables and removed her white pearls she was wearing to put the hanging blue earrings in, and monsieur Newton helped her with the necklace. When Eliza had her earrings safely in the case, and placed it in her bag, monsieur George Newton led her into the ballroom, her arm through his.
Eliza felt overwhelmed the moment she stepped into the ballroom. She also felt out of place as everyone stared up at those who just entered the ballroom, but smiled when she saw the joyful-tearful eyes of Mrs. Robinson as she stared up at Eliza. Eliza followed Monsieur Newton down the staircase onto the marble floors of the ballroom, feeling the same feeling of when Erik had danced with her not long ago, preparing her for any dances they would do tonight.
It was five minutes later when music began to play by the band above them, and many people walked over to the dance floor to do what Eliza heard as a waltz song. She was shocked to have monsieur Newton offer his arm to her.
Eliza hesitantly took his arm, nervous of actually dancing in front of other people, especially with the owner of the opera house.
The first dance was luckily one of those dances Erik had taught her. The dance began with curtsying or bowing to your partner, before your hands lightly touch the wrist of the other persons and you walked in circles, before switching hands and doing the samething the other direction.
It was then that you move into your partner, and Eliza took Monsieur Newton hand as her hand went to his shoulder and they began to dance in circles, before separating and Eliza moved to another partner, which was a boy from her school. "How did you learn how to dance?" he asks her as they switched hands and directions. "I learned from a professional" Eliza says smiling.
