If we've got each other, Spider-Man x OC

{Chapter one: feeding time and lullabies}

(1 year later)

Peter Parker entered Stark towers in search of his best friend Kali only to find her with baby Michael in her arms. He sat beside her and smiled. Peter had a crush on Kali for as long as he remembered and he admired how she had taken in the young baby for the sake of her best friend.

"Hey, Starky." He looked at 1 year old Michael and ruffled his brown hair, "hey, buddy, how's it going?" Michael attempted to speak but couldn't say anything, only speaking the same unintelligible language that all babies speak at his age.

"Hey, Parker. How's it going?" Kali turned her head to Peter and smiled.

"Things are great. I mean life couldn't get any better, you know?" The pair laughed a little and continued talking. Tony stood in the doorway and watched the entire thing with a small smile. Michael burst out crying and Peter gestured for Kali to hand the baby to him to which she nodded and handed Michael to him. "Hey now, little buddy, what's wrong? Why're you crying?" Little Michael finally stopped crying as Peter calmly spoke to him and gently cradled him. Tony chuckled quietly to himself and thought that the two would make great parents some day. Just as silently as he entered, Tony left as Kali stood up and smiled at Peter.

"It's time for his food anyway. I'll go get it." Kali left the room so it was just Peter and Michael.

"You know something, Michael? Kali is really pretty isn't she? No wait she's beautiful! You're really lucky to spend every minute of every day with her, you know that? She's a really good friend of mine and I really wanna be more so you're really lucky because her sole focus is you." Michael smiled up at Peter and tried to again speak but again only made unintelligible noises.

"Hey, Petey, can you help me set up his high chair?" Peter handed Michael back to Kali and helped set up the high chair for the baby. He then sat next to him and watched as Kali fed Michael with a loving smile. He knew that one day she would make an amazing mother. As he continued watching her, he found himself falling deeper for her and he wondered if now was a good time to tell her how he truly felt. He stayed for hours and soon Michael grew tired, he followed Kali to Michael's room and watched as she placed him down in his cot to sleep. He listened to her sing to the little baby a simple lullaby that she had wrote for him.

"The world's not perfect but it's not that bad

And with that, baby Michael fell asleep. Kali kissed his forehead gently and walked out of the room with Peter following after her. His mind still wandering to a single question, should he tell her about how he felt towards her? He didn't know what do do.
