{chapter two: Two Player Game}
Kali and Peter walked out of baby Michael Heere's room and sat down on the couch. Kali smirked and threw a controller to Peter to which he caught it with his Spider-Man reflexes.
"Bro, you thinking what I'm thinking?" Peter smirked knowing full well what she was thinking as she turned on the console.
"I know full well what you're thinking." Kali turned her head from the screen to Peter and smiled brightly.
[Kali:]
Apocalypse of the Damned!
[Peter:]
Level Nine!
[Both:]
The Cafetorium!
Find the bad guy, push him aside
Then move on forward with your friend at your side
It's a two-player game, so when they make an attack
You know you got a brother, gonna have your back
Then you stay on track and..
Ah! Remain on course
And if they give you a smack, you..
Gah! You use your force!
And if you leave your brother behind, it's lame

The pair laughed as they finally finished the level and looked at each other with the same adoring look in their eyes. Kali was the first to break the comforting silence.
"Hey, Pete, thanks for helping me out with Michael." Peter smiled warmly as they, unknowingly, leaned towards each other.
"You really don't need to thank me, Kali. I mean I know things have been hard since Ellie went but I'll always be here for you, don't ever forget that." The pair didn't know how close they were until their foreheads and noses were touching and their lips were inches apart. "Actually there's something I've been meaning to tell you." He placed his hand on her cheek and brushed his thumb over her cheek lovingly.
"Yeah?"
"Well, I..." Peter tried to speak but Michael's cries filled the air and interrupted what was about to be a beautiful moment.
"I'd better see if he's okay." Kali got up and smiled apologetically before running into Michael's room, leaving a lost looking Peter. He was about to confess his feelings to the girl he liked but of course Michael was Kali's first priority. He needed a plan to get her alone that's when he called Ned Leeds and arranged to meet him.
