Year 2056
I sat in class looking out the window in boredom, millions on thoughts going through my head. It was hard to be a teenager in these times. Kids were getting taken away from their families and were said to have a new uncommon disease. Every day I feared someone would come and take me away, for that strange reason I couldn't understand. It was Autumn so I watched the yellow, red, and orange leaves flutter down from the branches. I sighed happy to still be here with my friends and family, the ones I loved most.
I sighed and looked back towards my teacher ranting on and on about math things I would never understand. Suddenly I felt something hit the back of my head, I instantly turned around in disgust looking for the person who could have throw something. My hair sipping me in the face. As I looked around I noticed one of my friends was looking at me smiling and pointing to a little piece of paper in the floor. I rolled my eyes at her and reached down to grab the crumpled paper. As I flattened it out on my desk, I could see the words "Kaylyn I've been wanting to tell you something and..." but then I got cut off by the loud speakers. Everyone looked up in surprise and fear, every time the loud speakers came on it meant someone was getting taken away. I looked back towards my friend who was looking up at the loud speaker with a frightened face. Her name was Makayla, we've been best friends since the beginning of freshman year, she was pretty and way out of my league but she was always nice to me and smiled a bunch which always made me happy. But the face she made was terrifying and it shocked me so much I couldn't hear the words the principal said over the loud speakers. "Makayla Richards, you are wanted in the office ASAP." Then the loud speakers cut out.
I sat there staining at my friend in fear of loosing her. She was always there for me they can't take her away! She turned her head to look at me, her brown hair floating around her face "I'm sorry" she mouthed. Tears began running down my cheeks, she's the only one who can make me happy. I stood up as she walked out of the room, the note she gave me falling off my desk. "Wait!" I shouted after her now sobbing. I ran towards the door my teacher yelling at me to sit down, but I just couldn't my heart ached too much. "Makayla?" I squeaked sadly, my tears becoming too much for me. She turned around tears falling down her cheeks. "Kaylyn..." She said running to me and hugging me. "I can't leave! I can't leave you!" She said crying into my shoulder
