I smile and I take another sip of my drink, "Well, I've had one real boyfriend. We dated last year and things seemed pretty serious, for a high school relationship, but then I found out he was cheating on me."

"Wow, that sucks, sorry to hear that," Claire apologizes for something she shouldn't be.

I shrug, "I'm over it now. At least I got the experience I guess.

"Did you guys ever..."

I shake my head, "I never let it get to that, I was still pretty young so I guess I was saving myself."

She grins, "I respect that, Dyl. You're so cool."

"Thanks. What about you?"

Her cheeks turn pink, "Well there were two guys."

I raise my eyebrows and take another sip of my drink.

"Anderson and Alex, which was pretty dumb of me but it was so easy," she tries to make an excuse when she sees my face changes in surprise.

"But honestly, I think Alex may be the better guy but I honestly don't know."

"Do they know that?"

"I mean, probably," she lets out a nervous laugh, "but I've never told them."

I nod and look away.

As much as I like hanging out with this friend group, they seem to have a lot of baggage. But I guess every friend group has that.

"Bex has gotten around a lot too, more than you'll think."

I raise an eyebrow, "Really? It doesn't seem like that."

She nods, "Since she started high school. She's crazy but I love her."

I wonder why Rebekah's avoiding telling her about her and Grayson, Claire doesn't seem like any harm.

"She went to that boarding school, right?"

"Baynes Academy, yes. She went as alpha because Asher hadn't found his partner yet, I'm not sure if he's even found out who she was yet," she shrugs and I nod in agreement, although I know her pretty well.

"So because I happened to kill that woman, it 'triggered' my werewolf side?" I ask Asher and he nods for a reply, "It sucks how it happens but yes. Can I ask why you killed her?"

"She was responsible for the death of my parents," I fire back. We're sitting in the hot tub again after I come to my senses; there's no other choice than to just accept that this is my new life and these are my new friends.

He nods, "My parents died too when I was younger."

It's so weird how Asher and I can relate to so many things, he was the friend that Adrian was talking about that went into foster care, his parents died, he was an only child, and were both alphas.

"Do you remember your parents?"

He shrugs, "Not really, I was pretty young still so it's hard to remember them, but I have pictures at home."

"So, how did we get chosen?"

He shakes his head, "Alphas are from a bloodline so I gained it from my mom, your father was alpha. Betas, though, maybe born at random, but it varies."

"Our parents worked together, they were really good friends throughout their time working together, but we're definitely not related," he jokes. I let out a breath and laugh along with him. Thank goodness.

Hearing about my parents was always nice, hearing about my parents not being the same parents he was talking about made me feel even better.

Asher seemed like a very kind person, though when I first met him I did not think that at all.
