It was a dreary day, and I had just moved to my new home with my dad. Forks, Washington wasn't exactly my idea of a fun place to stay, and it certainly was no comparison to my old state of Florida, but I knew I needed to suck it up for my dad.

My dad was the type of person who kept to himself, but somehow knew the majority of the town. I was like him only in the first half of that statement. I barely knew anyone in this town, even though I had more or less grown up here.

I had gotten here on Saturday, and now it was Monday, the first day of my journey through hell, also known as high school in a new place. Although it was my last year, I knew it would be no joy ride what so ever.

I pulled up to Forks High School in my white pickup truck, trying to figure out exactly where the entrance was. Once I located it, I hopped out of my truck and went to the building's front steps. I saw a group, what I'm assuming was a family, of oddly striking people crowded around a black jeep and a silver corvette. There was a tall, skinny brunette girl, standing beside a boy with shoulder length brown hair a little lighter than hers. He had his arm around her shoulder, and they were leaned against the black jeep.

Across from them, leaned against the corvette, were four boys. Two with black hair, a short one with blonde hair, and another with brown. I had to admit, that one was incredibly attractive. They were all relatively pale, something to be expected in a town as gloomy as forks.

I noticed that the girl was staring at me as I passed by, and upon closer inspection, so was the other brunette boy, the attractive one. I couldn't help but blush, seeing his auburn eyes trained on me. The girl had startling dark eyes, almost to the point of redness. I couldn't help but stop in my tracks and gaze into her nearly blood colored eyes as they held mine with such bone chilling intensity, as if she knew something I didn't. I spared a quick glance at the attractive guy, who looked almost terrified that I was even there. All of a sudden, the entire group turned their eyes to my direction, making a cold shiver run up my spine. The bell for first period rang, and I took my chance to scurry into the school.

A few hours later, I found myself in my last class for the day, gym. The girls were playing volleyball, and the boys were on the other side of the gym playing basketball, naturally. Neither of these sports necessarily checked out for me, so I resorted to watching from the sidelines, hoping and praying that I wouldn't get hit in the head by a flying ball. Which, as you can imagine, is precisely what happened.

"Oh, my gosh! I'm so sorry!" A tall, black haired girl said, running towards me while apologizing frantically. "I didn't mean for it to come this way!"

"It's fine, don't worry about it." I replied, with a slight smile.

The girl's expression changed as a sudden thought apparently dawned on her.

"Hey, you're the new girl, right? Y/N?" She asked.

"Yeah, that's me." I answered with a slight blush.

"It's nice to meet you, Y/N! I'm Luna, but everybody just calls me Lu." She smiled, and stuck out her hand for me to shake. I timidly placed my hand in hers.

"Nice to meet you, too." I said, returning her cheerfulness. I felt as though we would probably become good friends in the near future.
