15 years ago is when the whole book begins when Amanda Little gave birth to Hannah Macie Barton. Amanda loved her daughter but five years later Amanda gave Hannah up after becoming severely depressed. Ten years later Hannah is living in Emmerdale village with her father Pete Barton and uncle Ross Barton.

Flashback Amanda Little's pov

"I hate you" I screamed to Pete as another contraption shoot through my stomach, I had been in labour for seven hours and they were becoming more and more regular which meant my little girl would be here soon

"I know you don't mean that Mandy, just consentrate on your breathing; in and out" pete spoke calmly, how could he be so calm when e was going to be a dad soon. Only I knew the truth, my godfather was this little girls dad but Pete was over the moon when we found out I was pregnant I couldn't tell him the truth, he was already good with my twins Camilla and Claudia, I had them at a young age.

"Right Amanda this little girl isn't budging so we're going to have to take you into theatre" my doctor informed me and I nodded squeezing Pete's hand, the doctors rolled me from the room and I saw Cain Dingle stood at the end of the corridor, he couldn't have known this baby was his could he?

"I'm going to need you to change into this" the doctor smiled to Pete as he handed him some scrubs obviously Pete took them and slipped them on, I was given some local anaesthetic so I wouldn't feel them cutting me open. Half an hour later the room was filled with a crying baby, we immediately knew what we wanted to call her.

"Hannah Macie Barton" both Pete and I smiled together, this was our baby, Cain didn't need to know Hannah was his it was going to be my little secret which none could find out about not even Hannah....
