JENNIFER POV

He asked her out.

And she sits at our table now.

Ugh! of all people to choose why her?! she makes it so doggone flippin' difficult to hate her!!

..She's ..too ...nice.

I walk over to the other side of the table and plop down next to Alice instead of Ethan.

I cant really avoid them, and i cant act like everything is okay.

I dont want to be fake.. but im a people pleaser.

At least Chelsea acts normal. Ethan is just acting really weird, he's always staring at her, and laughing at her stupid jokes, and....

Why do i even bother?! i am obviously NO MATCH to THE Chelsea Brown.

I hate this. I hate her. I hate him. I hate everything!!

ALICE POV

Jen shot up out of her chair real quick and stalked off.

"Excuse me for one moment." i say politely and folding my napkin and gently getting out of my chair.

I try be a lady when i can.

When i turn the corner to follow Jen, i make sure no one is watching, and i take off running.

I may not look it, but i am a runner. Cross-country, Track, anything with running involved, you name it, i've done it.

I catch up to her easily.

"Where are you going? what are you doing?" I ask

She looks down, looking a bit confused "i... dont know. I just.."

She couldn't finish her sentence before tears welled up in her eyes.

I bring her in for a tight embrace

"I've liked him for eight years!! never has he thought of me more than a SISTER! and she just waltzes in and snatches up my man quicker than you could say FRIEND-ZONE!" she sobs into my shoulder.

"You need to stop." i say pulling her away from me and holding her shoulders tightly.

"What?" she sniffs

"You need to stop liking him. it's bad for you and only hurts you more. it doesn't benefit anyone. ESPECIALLY you.

"i would only tell you this if i was your most true friend. and i am. we need to take you out! meet some other guys!!"

"I guess you're right.." she says

"Yes, i most definitely AM right! This is the only way it will stop hurting you." i say, a bit loudly.

She looks at the floor.

I tap her forehead up, to where she's looking at me. "Okay?"

She smiles "Okay."

"OMG, STOP FLIRTING WITH ME!!" i yell loudly.

We both laugh and walk back to the cafeteria.
