The days were getting cooler which was a blessing, as it had been a very hot summer.
Graham made his way to the kitchen, it was a morning ritual, he wasn't happy until he had his cup of coffee, even a second cup.
The children came into the kitchen, they loved the morning as they spent this time with their father.
Each child went up to their father and gave him a cuddle, and then sat down at the table to have breakfast with the family all together. The children sat and ate their porridge, they had honey and cream on it, as they did every day, their father worked in the factory and would bring home the milk and cream one day and the slab of tasty cheese, the next day.
It was easier to do the milk etc for the family, at least that way the children would be able to have a good meal every day.
The company who Graham worked for had an plan with every employee that they could order, milk cheese butter, the money amount would be deducted from their wages.
They had chicken in the back yard and a couple of ducks, so their were alot of eggs.
Nan and pop used to look after us one or two days week, and that's when they would cook cakes etc. this was a special time as each of them had a spoon and took a turn stirring the cake or rolling tiny mouthfuls of yummy biscuit mix that they shaped into whatever they wanted to.The smell of cooking could be smelt as Graham opened the gate of this property that he loved. he loved this time of day when his beautiful daughter came running up to him, her smiley face was flushed from being in the heated kitchen, "We are making special biscuits for you, Daddy." she said, she gave this man that she loved a kiss and said "I love you Daddy" and she went running off to open the front door for the family to go in.
They all sat around the beautiful kitchen, that had recently been made over, with the color of the paint ,it was between a soft blue with a tinge of purple, and when the sun shone through the windows the colour would shimmer in spots, it was beautiful.
'Come on Daddy, Have a biscuit that I made specially for you." said Angelina, and her brother Barry pushed his way into them just as excited as his sister to give his biscuit to his father as well, and handed his biscuit to his father at the same time, thus breaking some of his sister's biscuit, " Look at what you have done to my biscuit," yelled Angelina, and she kicked her younger brother, " I hate you, I hate you, " she yelled and started to cry,
Graham had never seen his daughter act like this before, and it shocked him to see how angry she had gotten with her brother, over something so minor.
He would have to watch and see what was going on with her, "I can keep an eye on her, over the weekend, " he thought, as he sat down and asked both of the children to sit down at the table and he picked up two pieces of biscuit.
He won't say anything to the children about what he had just witnessed, he would try and work it out for himself, I will just monitor how they are around each other.
And so he watched the children while he could, of course he couldn't watch them while they were away from him, such as school, and it seems that's where most of the fights started.
It was a normal day at school, and the children seemed to be in a happy place.
He said goodbye to each of them and told them to be good.
He watched as each child went into their classes.
In his mind he was saying, I hope that they have a good day.
