Chapter 3

Lyra pov

I woke up at 4:30am. I got up and got into booty shorts and tank top. I put my hair up and go for a run. I got back at 5:45am and took a shower. I put my piercings in and did simple makeup. I looked at the time and it was almost time for me to leave. I looked in the mirror and smiled.

I grabbed my house keys and walked to school. I got to school and smiled as everyone stared at me. I saw Colby and froze, my mind went blank. He looked taller, more mature and more muscular. He had piercings now and his hair was longer. I brought my mind back and ran pushing through people. I got 2 feet away from him and jumped on him wrapping my legs and arms around him. Out of nowhere I started crying, and then sobbing. He seemed freaked out and I don't blame him. "What the hell? Do i know you?!" It hurt to hear him say tjat but I didn't care. I missed him. I tried to makeout words and the finally came out. "I-I-I m-missed yo-ou s-so much!!" I said sobbing. I could feel him stop breathing and tense up. "L-Lyra...?" He said. I nodded into his chest and he immediately wrapped me into his arms. I could feel his tears fall on my face. I noticed people in the halls staring at us, I pulled back and saw his face for the first time in 2 years. New tears fell burning my face and I saw the joy in his eyes. "You were supposed to be gone for 4 years, not that I'm complaining but what..?" I laughed. "I wanted to cut it short, i missed you too much" he smiled and I heard whispers around the hall. "Who is that?" "The hell" "That couldn't be Lyra could it?" I smiled at their whispers and grabbed Colbys hand. I ran outsidd holding onto his hand. We got to a spot where there were only a few people. "Y-you look so different, more beautiful" i heard him whisper the last part. I smirked and his eyes widened. "You look quiet different yourself, not in a bad way either" i said with a laugh at the end. A slight blush appered and I thought about what is happening. My eyes watered again and he noticed. He smiled and we hugged tight again. We were interrupted but the familiar overwhelming amount of jasmine perfume and clicking of heels. I rolled my eyes and let go of Colby and wiped my eyes. I felt the need to put an arm around him and I put an arm around his waist. Mary appeared and had a shocked expression when she saw me with Colby. "So you finally got over the hoe" she said proudly. "Well, instead of this girl why not me, I'm sure I'll give you the time of your life" she said with a wink. I cringed and wanted to laugh so bad but I held it in. I saw Colby with a look of discust all over his face. I looked back at her and saw my brother. I felt calm to my surprise. "Well, considering I'm the so called 'hoe'...." I said looking at her. Her eyes widened. "You're telling me, you're the stupid ugly nerd Lyra?" I smirked at the names and nodded my head. My brothers face filled with shock. As did everyone else. I saw Colby smirk and the bell rang. Me and Colby left to class leaving them shocked. Me and Colby got inside and burst out laughing. "Wanna just skip?" I asked. Colby nodded and we left school. "Where are you even staying? Cause your brothers reaction shows me you didn't go home." "I got my own house." I replied bluntly. Colby stopped in his tracks and I laughed. "Y-you gor your own HOUSE?!" I laughed and nodded. "That's where we're going" i started walking again and Colby ran to catch up to me. We got ot my door and Colby was in awe, i opened the door and put the keys on my table. 'This...is my home." I said proudly. Colby looked around and laughed. "This is amazing" i smiled and went to my kitchen. I got flavored water for us and went to the living room with Colby following. "Wanna order pizza?" I asked as it was almost noon. "Sure, you know what to get. I hope" he said laughing. I laughed and nodded.

Colby pov

I was at school feeling worse than ever. Lyra being away has taken a huge tole on my mental health. I was walking around the halls and all of a sudden a random girl jumps on me, wrapping her lega and arms around me. I was taken aback and basically told her to back off in a kind way. She started sobbing and I didn't know what to do. Then I hear a faint i missed you. My eyes widen as I realized it was Lyra.....somehow. She had dyed hair, a LOT of tattoos and it felt like piercings against my body so I'm guessing a few piercings. She was also a whole lot lighter. She lost weight and i gained muscle. She nodded and I immediately hugged her and felt tears run down my cheek. Everyone was staring at us and I didn't care. We parted and she grabbed my hand and we ran outside. We ended up hugging and crying again until Mary interrupted us. When she said I moved on from Lyra my mind went blank and I realized. I have a crush on my best friend......shit

Lyra pov

I ordered pizza and me and Colbs were talking and laughing about the past 2 years. The door bell rang and I bolted up. I opened the door and smiled at the delivery dude. "$15.45 please. Oh and....you number would be the best tip I could get" he said with a smirk. I laughed and smiled at him. "Sorry, but I'm with my boyfriend right now" his face softened and smiled. "No problem. But ask for me when you order pizza if you guys don't work out. I will be available" he daid with a wink. I laughed and said thank you. I gave him the money and $10 tip. I walked in with the pizza and saw Colby smirking. "Boyfriend huh?" He said wriggling his eye brows. I laughed and we ate pizza while watching netflix.
