Chapter five

Selene's pov

I haven't spoken to or seen Jahseh in four days. I wasn't trying to be desperate but I thought that kiss meant something to him. I looked in the mirror as I brushed my hair with my golden brush.

"You mustn't worry so much mistress" kora said as she braided my hair in a goddess braid. I adverted my eyes to hers. "I was young once. I use to be dangerous if I do say so myself" she chuckled as she pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose. I smiled softly as she wrapped a golden string on one braid in a Kriss Kross pattern.

"There you look beautiful" she said as she titled my chin up. "Thank you Kora" I said as I stood up for the stool. "I shall return to the kitchen now. If you need anything please summon me" she said as she left my room.

I sighed falling on the bed. I wish I could talk to someone. My dad was too busy and since my mom came back she has been so busy as well. Ira went on a trip with her father to the land of worshipping because she wanted to extend her powers.

Sometimes I wondered what Jah was doing. But if he couldn't contact me then he probably didn't care about me. So I got dressed in some jeans and a white tank top and made my way to the new restaurant that opened on Holy Street. As I made my way there I saw Jahseh. I was excited to see him. But to not come off strong and desperate I decided to let him notice me first. He did because he turned around but didn't acknowledge me. A girl came to his arm. She was a sprite you could tell by her outfit. She kissed him and he kissed back.

I watched them in complete distraught and for the first time I think I felt pain in my heart. I swallowed a bitter taste in my mouth as I went inside the restaurant only getting an iced tea because my appetite had been lost. "What's a pretty girl like you doing so sad" the waiter said. I shrugged as he handed me my tea. He nudged me and waved his dinner around my drink causing it to sparkle. I giggled. He smiled as he wrote my name using glitter and then blew it in my face causing a heart to gather and then disappear.

I smiled "Thank you. " I said. He smiled saluting me "anything for you m'lady" he said bowing.  I giggled as I turned around I bumped into a hard chest. I looked up to see Jahseh. He looked down at me his eyes red with anger but for what reason.

The girl next to him was holding his hand and that hurt me. His eyes softened as he noticed my gaze. "Sele-

"No it's fine. She's really pretty anyways." I said going past him. Then tears started to flow and the weather seemed to match my mood. My breathing harshened as I used my powers to throw random things. When I was angry I couldn't control it. Pedestrians hurried away in fear as the sky turned dark and I screamed.

As if on  que. My mother and father teleported to where I was. I held my head in my hands as my tears poured down my cheeks. "Before you lay me down to sleep pray the lord my soul to keep" I mumbled while my mother rubbed my shoulder and we were back home.

"I'm stupid I should've listened to you father " I said chucking my ice tea somewhere. Kora immediately went to clean it but I held
Up my hand. "I'll clean it. Sorry kora" I said going to clean the mess. "I must speak with Lucifer" my father said leaving.

"Honey do you like him?" My mother asked. I nodded. "You need to let him know about all your feelings" she said.

I shook my head. I went upstairs to my room
Slamming the door. "I HATE YOU JAHSEH I HOPE YOU HEAR THIS YOU BASTARD!" I screamed throwing down my jewelry box. I looked at myself in the mirror. I touched the bruise that he had given me. The hickey. I took a rag from my dresser and tried to scrub it off. I didn't want it on me.
