Prologue

It was all Odin's fault. It was always Odin's fault.

You're probably wondering "what did Odin do this time?"

We will get to that, I promise, but first, I think that introductions are in order.

I'm Magnus Chase. And I'm kind of dead. It's a long story.

Over there is Alex fierro, my partner in crime and in li- well, death. Partner in death.

That the one that looks like she might murder you is Mallory Keen. She got here by trying to disarm a car bomb, which in my book, is pretty heroic.

This one is TJ. Hes pretty chill most of the time, and totally stands up for the little guys.

Halfborn gunderson has been here for over 1200 years. Him and mallory have a bit of a fling, but they're both to shy to admit it. (Dont tell them I said that)

Sam is out Valkyrie. Shes the one who decided that our death were worthy enough and heroic enough to come Valhalla.

We have all ended up here because we had some kind of heroic death or some shit like that. I've never really understood that whole thing. I'm pretty sure that I have died the least heroic death of deaths. For all intents and purposes, I yeeted myself off a bridge. Nothing even remotely heroic about it.

But that's not what we are here to talk about.

We are hear to talk about how tragically Odin messed up this time.

So, as you probably know, the einherji cant die in Valhalla. So we often have a bit of fun killing each other on the battle field and then sitting around at dinner and laughing about it.

So, when Odin found out about the hunger games, he thought that it would be a grand idea to hold a month long hunger games, and whoever dies the least wins.

Sounds like fun right? Wrong. It was awful. In the beginning, it sounded like a good idea, and like it could be fun. But no. It got old after about 3 days.

Anyway, enough with the introductions! Let's get on with the story!
