Opening the car door and exiting out of my mom's yellow Lamborghini URUS, a giant white school loomed over me. Closing the door and waving to my mom as she drove off, I heard a familiar shout of my name. Turning back towards the school, my childhood friend Kami Ingala was running towards me.

Within a blink of an eye she was squeezing the life out of me in a tight embrace, picking my small frame up off the cement sidewalk. I hugged back as much as I could, trying to breath again.

Putting me back down with a grin on her face she asked me, "So, when did you move here?"

I smiled back. "A week ago. My mom let me get used to the town first. The last time I was here we were only 13, so I explored our favorite places before I go to school."

She hugged me again, this time softer, and whispered to me, "I missed you so much, Ome."

I hugged back again, whispering, "Me too." I pulled away a little and asking her, "So what did I miss?"

Her eyes lit up as she let go of me and intertwined her fingers with mine, dragging me up the stairs to where the other students were. She sat us on the edge of the big fountain, blabbering about the 4 years I missed.

While she was talking, I was looking at the other students. A guy with golden blonde hair in a ponytail caught my eye. He seemed to be flirting with some girls on another side of the fountain behind Kami.

As if he felt my stare, he turned his head and made eye contact with me. My face flushed, turning my attention back to Kami.

"Be careful of the popular guys. They are the royalty of the school!" Kami exclaimed, pointing them out. "That white haired dragon hybrid is Nuco Everest. He a bit of a Tsundere, so don't mind his temper. There is also Garen Lai. He's the one with those three girls behind me. He's an elf Casanova." She was about to say more, but Garen walked over to us.

"Hey Kami." He said with a smile, getting a hello back from the tall girl.

He turned his attention towards me with a smirk, asking me, "did you like the view?" With a small wink after. My face turning pink when he asked me that. I stuttered an answer, fiddling with the pencil behind my wolf ear. "I-I'm sorry!" I apologized quickly, bowing my head in habit.

He looked at Kami for what to do. "I was just teasing you, girly.."

Kami patted my back with a small sigh and a smile on her lips. "Excuse her behavior. She's always apologizing for things like that." I looked away ashamed, getting a small back rub from Kami.

He laughed, "Of course. Sorry for scaring your little friend here, Kami. See you around!"

Kami waved as he walked away, the bell ringing. I got up and followed Kami as she walked inside like the other students. Looking at my schedule, I had science first.

Parting ways with Kami, I walked into the class. I found an empty seat near me and sat down, waiting for the teacher to start the lesson.

The lunch bell rang soon after fourth period, math, ended.

Walking out of the class with Kami, we passed Garen who was with a tall female human with a pink half shaved head and an uniform to small for her structure. We smiled and waved, walking into the cafeteria to an empty table.

Getting into the line and soon getting our food. Once we were back at our table, Garen popped up and asked if he could sit with us, nodding his head towards the table with Laurie and her friends, hinting at Kami.

"Ah. You can sit with us whenever you want." She smiled, patting the seat next to her.

He smiled back and slid his knapsack off. "Thanks, I needed a break."
