Breaking Point

No one really paid attention.

They thought it wasn’t worth the time.

No one really cared.

They thought they were above it.

No one saw what was happening.

They thought it was better to ignore it.

No one tried to help out.

They thought that it wasn’t needed.

They should have.

They should have paid attention.

They should have cared.

They should have noticed what was happening.

They should have tried to help.

Maybe then it would have made a difference.

Maybe then it might have never happened.

Maybe then the sorrow might have melted away.

That hidden sorrow.

That hidden rage.

That hidden pain.

Maybe it would have vanished.

But that’s all in the past now.

It’s all done and over with.

What they ignored is no longer there.

What they rejected is gone.

The person they thought was fine was now dead.
