Song: DNA by BTS

Mei Na wanted to become an idol, but her parents keep turning down her hopes and dreams since the age of 7. "Become a doctor!" Her mom would say. "Our family were all doctors, Mei Na. Why can't you be one? I'm very disappointed in you." Her dad would say. "The idol job is useless, there will be a lot of stress on you." Her mom would say. "Why won't you be like the rest of us?" If that didn't work, they will tell her she's not fit for the job. They would say negative things about her. Trying to make her turn away from her dreams. But what they didn't know, was that her dreams were bigger than they thought. And what they wouldn't know, is that the negative things they said was going to direct her towards the idol dream even more instead of the doctor's dream.

_____

Mei Na now reached the age 15. Her mother and father always turning her down on her dream. When she was 10, she had a lyric book that lyrics in there by her own hand. When her parents found out about it, they were furious. They tore it apart and burnt it in their fireplace. Fortunately, she had another copy of it in case this scenario happened. It was her Plan B (I just had to put that reference in there XD Xu Sheng En).

When she was 13, she started an Weibo account and named it @mei_nana to put videos of her dancing to songs in the school dance room. The dance teacher allowed this and thought it was awesome that the girl followed her dreams no matter what.

____

Mei Na opened her phone. She tapped on Weibo and had a look of surprise. The video, which was posted just yesterday, was a video of her dancing to BTS' Fake Love, So What, and Not Today. The video had grown 10K views over night. "Wow.." She muttered as she scrolled down through the comments.

@suga_daddy OMG her dancing is sooooo awesome, I can't!

@say_the_name17 SHE'S LIKE A GODDESS IRL!!!! CAN U DO A SONG OF 17'S?!

@jungkooks_bae Her dancing isn't even that good, I can do it better. Geez, she's just like everyone of you wannabes.

@mochi2.0 shut up, ur just jealous.

Although she had some hate, she can't help but smile at the other people who were defending her. She opened her private messages.

There was an text from... @Yuehua_Company?! Whaatttt?!  She thought as she clicked on the text.

Oh, and did I mention, her aunt is the manager of Yue Hua. And before you ask, yes. She did get kicked out of the family for "shaming" them. Now, she has a condo in New York, an entire apartment in London that has four floors and an elevator, and a mansion in Seoul. She lives in an rich house in Beijing, currently. Although her grandfather disowned her aunt, she still has contact with her.

@Yuehua_Company Hi, Mei Na. This is your aunt. I have seen your phenomenal video of your dancing and an old video of you singing to Monster. I was wondering if you will be an trainee in a new show called Idol Producer, which is an survival show with 99 boys and 1 girl. They will cut everybody out until there is 10 people standing. Those ten people are going to form an group called Ten Percent, but if a girl gets in, it will be called Nine Percent. I want you to be that girl. You don't have to tell your parents, since I know your condition. I will take full responsibility for you the moment you get in my car tomorrow morning. You need to pack all of your clothes, phone, toiletries, etc. All I need is a simple yes or no. Remember, once you say yes, you can't back out.

Yes, yes, of course yes! I needed to get out of this stupid dull household anyways. Mei Na thought.

@mei_nana Yes I will. When are you going to arrive?

@Yuehua_Company Perfect. I will be there at 10:00. See you tomorrow morning, hun.

Mei Na squealed in excitement. She walked down to the kitchen where her parents were. "Mom, dad." They looked at her expressionless. "I'm going to be a trainee tomorrow at aunt's company." Her father stood up in rage. "What?!" "Why didn't you tell us before you made the decision?!" Her mom yelled. "'Cause I don't want to be a fucking doctor! I had it with you guys! And for the last time, I want to perform on a stage, in front of a big crowd! Where I don't need to worry about you guys scolding me!!" Mei Na yelled back, tired of all these bullshit going around for years.

She felt a sting at her left cheek as her head whipped right. Her hand trembled as she cupped her cheek as her mom stared at her hand in shock. "I...am going to pack my bags. I will leave this house at 10:00 tomorrow morning and I will go to the show that's starting. Idol Producer. I am going to make it on a stage, just you wait." Mei Na said with a trembling voice. Her father shook with fury. "T-the moment you step out if this d-door, w-we're gonna disown you." He trembled. "Disown me, I don't care. I've had enough." She gave a fake smile and went to pack her bags.

The moment she closed the door of her room, an tear slipped down her still stinging cheek as she slid down her door and sat on the ground. "No, wait... I have to pack..." She muttered as she wiped her tears with her sleeve. She packed her necessities and some snacks and her phone. "Done." She said, proud of herself managing to pack it all. It was dark outside and she changed into her pajamas. "Good night." She smiled up at the ceiling. She then turned around and closed her eyes, waiting for the light to come again.

It was the morning, the sounds of birds chirping outside of Mei Na's window was occurring more and more often. The sun shined on her bare neck as she shivered. She should not have kicked the blanket off her bed before she dozed off again.

"SO MANY TROPHIES, MA HAND CARRY 'EM, TOO MANY THAT I CAN'T EVEN COUNT 'EM! MIC DROP! MIC DROP! BAL BAL JOSIM NEONE MAL MAL JOSIM!"

Mei Na groaned and turned over. She reached her arm over to the bedside table top and felt for her phone. Once she found it, she brought it up to her face and smashed the dismiss button. She regretted choosing a hyped song like Mic Drop by BTS for her ringtone instead of a more calmer one like THANKS or Don't Wanna Cry by Seventeen. Or even Really Really by Winner. That would've worked, too.

Song: Best of Me by BTS

(Listen to this song while you read if DNA ends, if you can't, then play it on YouTube or something.)

"Stupid phone.." I muttered underneath my breath. I laid back down. "Why did I have to wake up this early again?" I mumbled, hitting my head. I sat up in realization. "Shit!" I cursed as I began grabbing my outfit and making my way to the bathroom. I took an quick shower and dried off.

I quickly blow dried my hair. I brushed my teeth and threw on my gray Adidas shirt, an white cap, and a pair of white leggings. I had no make up on since I think I have an natural face. I grabbed my phone and my charger, grabbed my luggage and ran downstairs.

My parents stopped me. What now?! I thought as I rolled my eyes. My father sighed and said, "We can't stop you, can we?" I shook my head. "Just so you know, we'll let you go to that show to become a idol or whatever, but don't come to us crying if you get rejected." My mom said sternly. "Here are some snacks to have on the car. Call us so we know you're alive and well, okay?" My dad handed a big bag of snacks. "Okay." I said, fidgeting with my fingers. "Work hard." Mom said.

"Thanks, mom and dad." I hugged them and pecked their cheek. I walked to the door and put my white sneakers on. My aunt arrived in a black car and waved for me.

I ran down our driveway with my luggage behind me. I got in the car and saw them smiling at me. I waved at them as they returned the same gesture. Then I closed my eyes and leaned my head on the headrest.

I'm coming for you, Idol Producer.
