It was the worst thing you ever witnessed in your entire life and trust me, you've seen some pretty bad stuff. Damon walked out of your life with a blank expression and fell in love with Elena. You lost your best friend, your drinking buddy and the love of your life. He was everything to you and now, that love is gone.

Stefan: Everything was about Elena. "Let's watch Elena's favorite movie, " "Let's follow Elena, " "Let's do what Elena wants" and etc. You just couldn't handle it anymore. Even though Elena loves Damon, Stefan was still attached to her. So you thought of doing the one thing you thought was best, you asked Rebekah to compel Stefan. Rebekah compelled Stefan to forget about you and to be free. In a way, you felt like you held Stefan back and you just wanted him to be happy. He was free from Elena and from you too. You guys remained friends, but the love extinguished. Was there any love to begin with?

Elijah: You and Elijah are soulmates. He's a Mikaelson, he's as powerful as he can get. When Hayley came into the picture, that did it. Elijah spent all his time around Hayley. He basically forgot about you. Until one day, you actually tried to talk some sense into your boyfriend who had no memory of you. "Who are you?" he asks. "I'm sorry. My girlfriend is Hayley Marshall." That's all it took to break you. Hayley erased any romance between you and Elijah because she wanted Elijah to herself.
