The Legs Of A Fish Girl

[This is the original tale of Ariel]

Ariel is the seventh daighter of King Triton, ruler of the seven seas, younger to Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista and Adrina. Ariel was the most head strong of all her sisters, she didn't care much for the throne under the see because she was much more fascinated with the things above the water. For this Ariel and her father, King Triton, would never see eye to eye and it would lead to arguements. 

Ariel had a hollow in the coral reefs in which she would hide out all the things she would gather from the human world. Looking up at the water that reflect the moonlight above her, Ariel said, "One day i will be part of your world."  This hollow was the one place that Ariel could forget the arguements with her father and just be herself, later that night Ariel heard a ship above her and she swam up above the water but the ship was under attack by another and a young man fell into the water unconcious. Ariel decided to save the young man's Life but what she did not know is that he was Prince Eric of the near by Kingdom. She save the prince's life and pulled him onto the shore, she sang to him with her beautiful voice to comfort him and the Prince did regain his conciousness. The Prince didn't see the face to the voice that he heard because Ariel swam off before the Prince could realize that she was a meramid.

Ariel sat upon a rock in the water and looked at the Prince who wandered the shoreline looking for the girl who saved his life. Looking at the Prince's gorgeous face she fell in love with him. Ariel kept her feelings a secret because she knew too well that she couldn't tell her father that she saved a human nor that she was in love with him. But they were of two diferent world she was not human but he was. She quickly left and went to the sea witch, Ariel made a deal with the Sea Witch that she wouls give her voice in exchange for legs. The sea Witch agreed and so Ariel gained the legs she needed to meet the Prince, what she did not know is that her sister Alana had seen her. Alana though was aware that Ariel's heart belonged on land and she saw how she looked that the prince. Princess Alana decided to keep it a secret.

Ariel made her way on land and looked for the Prince. when she drew a picture of the young man she looked for the people told her that he was none other that Prince Eric, Ariel was surprised and she made her way to the castle.

Prince Eric was searching for the girl that he had met and Ariel heard this, when Ariel reached that castle she meted him at the steps and the prince was about to make an annoucement. Prince Eric made an annouucement stating that he was looking for the one that saved his life and he wished to hear her beautiful voice once more. Later after the announcement the Prince meets Ariel once more but he soon realized that she couldn't speak and though she was quite simillar to what he was looking for the voice she didn't have would have seal the deal, what Ariel kept in the back of her mind is that she needed that Prince to fall in love with her in three day or she will die.

Over the next three days the Prince was barage by dozens of maidens but none had the voice for which he seeked. Ariel though took every moment she could get to show the Prince who she was but he payed no mind because she could not speak. One night a few hours after the sun went down Ariel heard a voice near the shoreline. "that's my voice." she thought.

A Princess walked the shoreline singing with Ariel's voice and when Ariel made her way to the balcony she saw the Prince meeting the girl and with this the Prince was convinced that this Princess was the one that sang to him not so long ago.

Prince Eric introduced that Princess to his father and stated that he was going to marry her, he was completely in love with her believing that he had found his Princess and th only one that could have saved her life.

Alana knew that the Princess was but in fact the daughter of the sea witch and she had tricked Ariel who she knew was in love with the Prince. Realizing that the Prince would never look Ariels way she gathered her sisters and they made a deal with the witch. All the Princesses cut off their hair to get a knife that Ariel would use to kill the prince and drip the blood onto her feet to return to the sea with her tale.

The wedding was held in the evening of the third day and that is when Alana gave Ariel the knife and told her what to do, heart broken and angered by the truth, Ariel lost her mind blinded by the love she had for the prince. Ariel attacked the Prince at the altar driving the knife into his chest over and over and over. The expression on her face said everything she couldn't. The Prince looked at her is horror, Ariel skalped the prince before eveyone and  tossed into the sea then she stabbed her feet with the knife and she regained her tale, but she didnt return to the sea. sitting on the ship she scaled herself and made the prince's bride-to-be eat all the scales she cut off, choking on the scale the sea witch's daughter died blood dripping from her mouth. 

Ariel crawled to the Prince on the Gound and Cut out his tounge an she regained her voice, "Now Prince, you can't talk." she said as she ate his tongue and dove back into the sea. never to be seen again.
