Normal POV
Whispers. That's all she heard as she walked down the streets. Whispers about her. How poor she was, how ugly she was, how dumb she was. Of course, it wasn't her fault that her parents died at a young age, and they all knew that. So why? Why did they whisper about her? She was probably the kindest person any of them had ever met. So why did everyone whisper about Lucy Heartfilia? Probably because of the princess, Lissana Strauss.Lucy POV
As I walk down the road to the farmers market, I heard even more whispers. This was usual. But what was unusual was what they were whispering about. Why weren't they talking about me? Probably because of the Demon Festival. The Demon Festival occurs every year, and it just so happened to be tomorrow, on October 31st. Other nations call this even Hallows eve, or Halloween. Not us though. Contrary to popular belief, dragons, angels, fairies and other mystical creatures do exist. And the most powerful race are the Demons. On this day, all creatures are allowed to come to the human world, but only if they have good intentions. In other words, they come to find mates. Normally, low level creatures come to gather there mates, but this year is different. The part demon part dragon prince, Natsu Dragneel, is old enough to mate this year. And word has it that he has his eyes on our princess. But nobody knows for sure, considering no one ever talks to the demons. I just hope that he doesn't like Princess Lissana, for she is very cruel. Particularly to me.
Back to before, I am walking to the farmers market when I hear muffled screams. Everyone around me hears it too, but they ignore it. However, I head strait towards the yelling. Soon, I start to sprint, and end up in an alleyway. I see our "oh so beloved princess" beating the crap out of a small, blue haired girl. "Take that you little bitch! That's what you get for begging for food!" I see the girl cry out in pain as she takes yet another hit from Lissana. Finally, I had enough. "Lissana! Get your hands off of her!" She slowly turns her head towards me. "And why should I" I smirk. "Unless you want your kingdom to know you beat up a poor, helpless girl, I suggest you stop." "Fine then, Heartfilia. But just remember, once Prince Natsu chooses me as a mate, I will show you no mercy." She evilly smirks, then walks away. I also smirk, calling out "I wouldn't be so sure Lissana." After she was gone, I slowly turn my attention back to the girl. "Thank you so much for helping me! How can I repay you?" I think for a moment. "What is your name, and why are you alone?" To this, her smile falters. "My name is Wendy, and my family abandoned me." I look at her instantly knowing that she was lying, but everyone has secrets, even me. I soon smile at the girl. "Well Wendy, my name is Lucy, and I've always wanted a little sister! If you don't have a place to stay, would you like to come with me?" Immediately, her face lights up. "Thank you so much! I would love to Lucy! It will be great having an older sister!" Smiling, we make our way to my little house.
"Lucy, if you don't mind me asking, why do you live so far out of town?" We we're now about a mile out of town, and we're coming up onto my house. "The people don't really like me, and I like the view her better!" "Oh. It is pretty out here." I then smirk. "Wait until you see my backyard." As we enter my house, I got Wendy situated into my spare room. My house isn't big by any means. It's just a small cabin, with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, living room, and small loft upstairs. Of course, me being the incredibly awesome person that I am, prefer to sleep in the loft instead of a bedroom. I soon go up to my loft, only to look at my closet. "I have to find an outfit to wear tomorrow. Wendy also needs one too." Luckily, I know just the outfit for Wendy. Seeing how she is only 14, I decided to give her my old pink dress with a black tie. (Media) I will be wearing my back dress with gold trim. (Leo Star dress) I then grab Wendy's outfit and bring it to her. I found her in her room, admiring it. This room used to be mine, and what can I say, I have good taste. Wendy turns to look at me. "Thank you Lucy for letting me stay here!" "No problem Wendy. Here! I have a dress for tomorrow's festival." I say and hand her the dress. "I love it, thank you so much Lucy!" "Your welcome! I'm gonna go make dinner, I'll call you when it's ready!" I say as I walk out of her room and head towards the kitchen. Soon, dinner was ready. I had made spaghetti with bread on the side. I then called Wendy down, and we dug in. "Say, Wendy, other than healing magic, do you have any other powers?" I say with a smirk. "W-what?! How did you know I had healing magic?" She replies kinda shocked. "When I entered your room, all of the wounds Lissana gave you were gone. So, that means you can heal. So, do you have any other magical abilities?" She looks down at the ground, then replied. "Yes, I am a sky dragon slayer." My eyes immediately widen. "Woah. But dragon slayers are so rare! If you have magic, why didn't you fight Lissana back?" She immediately smirks. "Well, killing the princess wouldn't look good on my part." I smirk back. "I guess your right, but I still wouldn't mind her having some broken bones." "Me neither! Anyways, what about you? Do you have any magic?" I think about that question, and decide to answer honestly. "Yes, I'm a celestial mage. And I have some more powers, but I can't share them. Sorry." "It's totally fine! But that's so cool! Celestial wizards are even rarer than dragon slayers! How many people know?" " Umm, just you and one other person." " Well I bet if everyone knew they wouldn't be mean to you." Wendy says with a yawn. "Maybe, But I think that you need to go to bed." I say with a giggle. "Yeah. Goodnight Lucy, and thank you for everything!" "No problem Wendy! Night!" After Wendy went to bed, I prepared myself for bed. As I was about to go to sleep, I thought I heard Wendy talking, but I dismissed it so I could sleep. Once I got into bed, I passed out almost immediately, wondering what events would take place tomorrow.Wendy POV
".... onii-chan, you can't be calling me. Yes, I know that the prince likes her, but Lissana..." "Wendy, don't stress about it. Natsu knows who is mate is, and he knows the consequences about marrying a princess. They'll both be fine." "Ok Gajeel, I trust you, but if big brother isn't careful, we can have a lot more problems then we thought."
~~~~ Time Skip; Next Day ~~~~
Lucy POV
I woke up at around 7:30, just like I do everyday. I then got Wendy up, and told her to take a shower. She ran to the bathroom squealing about not having a shower in a long time. While Wendy took a shower, I made us a breakfast of pancakes. I sighed remembering how my mother and father would always make me pancakes when I was little. Too bad they had to leave so soon. Soon, Wendy ran into the kitchen in her dress and pigtails. She looked so kawaii! While she was eating breakfast, I took a speedy fast shower and changed into my dress. Why are we dressing up for this occasion? Well, because it's practically required to. The law even says so. And so, Wendy and I headed out the door and we're on our way to the Demon Festival.
What will happen at the festival? Who and what was Wendy talking about? What are her connections with Natsu? Well, I know the answers, but you guys will just have to wait and see. 😈😈😈
