"S-sorry sir I had some problems at home again" Lucas said looking down at his lap.
"Well just don't let it happen again" Mr Mathews said getting on with his assignment. Maya felt bad for the boy since she understood what he was going through. Maya got up and sat in the back next to Lucas.
"I'm Maya" Lucas looked up startled not used to anyone talking to him.
"Uh I'm Lucas" Maya nodded. I just moved here because my mom met this guy named Steve and they fight constantly it gets really annoying Maya said looking ahead of her she felt like she could tell everything to Lucas and that is what she did the whole class period.
Maya and Lucas were walking to the lunch room chatting away about math and how much they hate it when Riley and farkle joined them.
"Hey Maya, and Lucas" Farkle said smiling not bothered by Lucas neither was Riley she liked Lucas's company but he was always too shy to talk.
"Hey guys" Maya said smiling back at Farkle Lucas just stood closer to Maya something about her just made him feel more comfortable.
"Can we sit with you guys?" Riley asked looking between Maya and Lucas
"Uh s-sure" Lucas said gripping onto Maya's hand Maya smiled and held Lucas's hand and gave it a slight squeeze to let him know it was okay.
