Jimin can never forget that tune in his head

Jimin can never forget that tune in his head. The tune that reminded him of something he's familiar with, and he never thought that within a girl's gaze will he find another vessel that conveyed a mountain of lies; just waiting to be spilled.

He wonders when his own pile will come to be revealed in a possible unforeseen accident only the future held for him. All he knows is that he has to keep building on his own lies because everything he has will come crumbling.

His honest streak came to an end at an earlier time when he got bullied for the first time. It was his first day of 1st grade, and he happened to be a few months younger than every kid in the campus. From his first day of elementary, he got bullied periodically every week because of the fact that he was "rich". His classmates and their friends always found a way to get ahold of his lunch money, which they found was massive for one-day use. They also took advantage of the fact that he was younger in age and helpless, so they kept indulging on Jimin's parents' money for weeks; until Jimin found a solution. He was in the schoolyard one day during lunch, finding himself robbed of his parents' money when he thought of getting revenge against their unending cruelty against him. He made a plan where many of his bullies will be caught guilty of stealing his money and it worked. One day later, his plan unveiled a group of kids that involved about 8 classrooms being accused of bringing comic books that contained pornographic images to school and using Jimin's lunch money to buy all of those books for weeks. There were twelve books confiscated in total, and $208 found that were stolen from Jimin forcefully. The accusation, which looked like it came from the kids' group of friends that bullied him, was the start of Jimin's many firsts that included lies. About five of the same twenty kids that bullied him every week only possessed the comic books that they were accused of, and Jimin forged one of the kids' handwriting without leaving a fingerprint on the accusation paper to be delivered to a faculty teacher familiar with the kids. Ever since of the accusation day, all teachers took good care of Jimin and always protected him against the other kids so they couldn't touch even a single strand of his hair.

Jimin used to have felt proud of his deed as a child, but now he only acknowledges it as a necessity. After all, it has benefitted him so far.

The best prize, among all prizes that he will never hand over to anyone else is a fragile thing called trust, which he had built with time to earn it from them. It was never a good habit, lying, because each lie only gave him more suffocation. Whether big or small, a hidden needle would come pierce his conscience that he feels numbness every night he tries to bury down his guilt.

Whether his addiction earned a small connection to a year senior fellow of his as a friend by keeping him company because he felt guilty being with kids his senior's age who bullied him discreetly and constantly; reminded of his days at first grade ...

... or whether that same unstoppable trigger gave him his true best friend who would hate him when he has learned that Jimin was the kind of person he most hated because of his parent's occupation, his body never ceases to take his emotional burden enough for him to fall down on the comfort of his cold marble floor. There he sat every night, writhing in guilt and helplessness openly when no one was around to witness him.

He met Kim Taehyung earlier than his small acquaintance with a Jung Hoseok who is a few years older than him. Taehyung happened to be in the same class as his, and when he was deeply thinking of his numerous lies the individual with a rectangular smile approached him. He was puzzled since Taehyung's friends had their gaze on the two of us, my subconscious telling me he left them in their conversation.

He remembered asking him, "Why did you leave your friends?" Jimin gulped at his curious gaze.

He responded with a grin: "They're having fun on their own. And you look like you need company. My parents say having company is the best way to not be sad."

They got along after that very quickly and he introduces him to his friends, who gladly welcomed him into their company. They became the best of friends throughout the few years and hopefully they will for both their lifetimes.

He met Jung Hoseok at the small eatery he works in, when he came late to his other set of friends witnessing them beating up the poor student employee. He hid out of fear on a nearby alley until he saw that his friends left the establishment. He reluctantly went back to the eatery and saw the employee almost passed out on the ground.

The unknown male's brand of bruises and wounds were still unforgettable to him. He remembered holding his hand out to him, while he helped him get up when the male was conscious enough. Though hesitant, he asked:

"Where is that bruise on your forearm from? Is it from... t-them?"

"It's from someone else.." He gives a pained smile at my direction.

Jimin figured out for himself that on top of probably being bullied from time to time with my friends (the assumption from the fact that his friends said they are a regular on the humble establishment), he is an abused employee at his workplace.

The thought of reporting his employer to the police crossed his mind...

...but he saw "many" obstacles in his way:

On of the struggles he found is somehow getting the senior a new job somewhere else. He thought of his family's business or any other place, but if he did help him it could be the destruction of his mountain of lies. If he helps him, the chance that everyone finds out his parent's status could differentiate their views regarding him as an individual; including his best friend Taehyung. In his mind's eye, his lies are in place for him to make relationships with other people without being faced with any bias. Any action he makes could affect his future in a terrible way; and the future he hates the most is when there are people who hate him other than himself. He also couldn't guarantee that his family's line of work or other businesses would accept Hoseok as he was underage. If people learn that Jimin can make arrangements like that, people might find out and take advantage of his status; even his kind and generous persona will defintely be taken advantage of. If he is put in a situation of rejecting them, he could invite unwanted hate or spite; Taehyung included.

In order to avoid an undesirable future, he plays as a young boy who is as poor as his classmates with a kind personality in front of the world he's deceiving. Behind the scenes, he is kid of greater status among his crowd with mere business partners as friend.

His mind suddenly takes a turn back to the scene of his best friend glancing at his face that seemed to almost unveil his true face underneath his mask, merely the tune as the stimuli. The stimuli which came from a lone girl seeming to sing him every night drowned in his lies, the notes which she played with her fingers illustrating emotions no pianist has ever drawn out of him. Jimin didn't glance back to his friend because of his fear in addition to his momentary display of weakness in his mind's eye, and when he realized the music stopped he found his reflection in another human.
