"I love you."
Courage pushes Hoseok through his bedroom door. Jin was right. Taehyung needs him and he isn't going to hide anymore.
When he blurts out the words, he's terrified that the younger will reject him and push him away. And although this thought is painful, he deserves it for hurting Taehyung so much.
Hoseok's heart cracks when he sees the small lump curled up on his bed, shaking with sobs that he'd caused.
Light brown, fluffy hair pops out from under Hoseok's covers and large, glossy eyes stare back at the elder, "W-what?"
Every bone in the elder's body is screaming for him to run. To retreat and hide from all of his problems before he gets hurt more. But, he can't. He can't put Taehyung through anymore pain. He's going to be the man that he needs.
"I said, 'I love you'," Hoseok repeats, not disguising the flame of passion in his eyes.
When the younger just blinks in shock, Hoseok continues, "I'm in love with you, have been since before we debuted. I tried...I really tried to hide it because loving you isn't what I'm supposed to do," he says, voice beginning to shake as he walks forward.
There's no holding back now. Words tumble out of his mouth, one by one, stringing together a confession that has been built up since the day Hoseok's eyes landed on the brunette.
"I'm suppose to be your hyung that guides you and you learn from, not someone who falls in love with you," he continues, taking one of Taehyung's shaky hands in his own, "But I don't want to just guide you, I want to kiss you. I want to be the one you share you feelings with and trust with everything that makes you Taehyung. I love you..."
Once he's finished with his small speech, Hoseok looks into Taehyung's eyes that seem to have widened twice their original size.
The younger is beyond shocked. He'd waited for Hoseok to come back to him and prove that he actually meant what he'd said, but Taehyung never expected him to actually come back. Having the elder right here, confessing his feelings, has Taehyung ready to burst in tears and laugh at the same time.
Is all of this true? Or is it another strike at the younger's breaking heart? If he chooses to believe the elder, he'll be making his heart vulnerable again. Hoseok could turn around and leave him hurt again and there would be nothing he could do but let the pain attack him.
But Hoseok looks so sincere and serious...what if he isn't lying? What does he have to lose?
Taehyung pulls his hand out of Hoseok's and sits up from his position, looking back at the elder with the same amount of passion, "Prove it."
