Y/n POV

Tonight is the night the particle accelerator is going to turn on. Barry's so excited, me on the other hand couldn't care less. Ever since Barry and I were little he has loved STEM and been a nerd, but he's my brother so I love him anyways. I have always been the "bad" child. I always get myself in trouble. In the sixth grade I got suspended for throwing a rock at a kid. I had a good reason, he was teasing Barry. Barry and the bully were in seventh grade.

I'm going to this particle thing because Barry had an extra ticket and didn't want to go with just Iris. God he had loved that woman since we were little.

It's 5:50 and this thingy starts up at 6:30. I put on a pair of skinny jeans, a black long sleeve, a grey beanie, and my pair of black high top converse. I grab my phone and wallet and head out of my apartment. I decide to text Barry.

Y/n
   Hey. On my way to star labs.
Barr
Okay I'll meet you there! Iris is there already.

   Y/n
Barry when are you going to
   tell her how you feel???

Barr
I don't know. I don't want to talk
about my love life with you.

Y/n
Okay jeez. I'll see ya later

I put my phone in my pocket and get in my car. As I'm driving i think about how Barry found the love of his life and he won't act on it but I've never had a boyfriend. God he's stupid. I get to star labs at 6:20 and look around for Iris. Her and I are good friends but not nearly as close as her and Barry. I spot her sitting on a bench looking at her phone.

"Hey Iris," i said.

"Hey Y/n, I didn't know you were coming here. Doesn't seem like your kind of scene." Iris told me.

"Barry had an extra ticket and didn't want it to go to waste" I told her, sitting down next to her. "So, how's CCPN? I heard you got promoted from intern to reporter."

"Yeah I did. Do you know when Barry is getting here?" She asked. As soon as she asked, Barry walked around the corner,smiling.

"Hey Barr," Iris said.

"Hey Iris, Y/n." Barry said.

"Lets see this atom smasher smashing." I told him.

We walked up to the crowd to see Harrison Wells standing behind a podium talking about this particle accelerator being his life long dream. While he was talking a guy ran in between Iris and I, grabbing her laptop case.

"My laptop! That has my deposition on it!" Iris yelled.

I started running after the thief, Barry running right behind me. The thief jumps over some railing, jumps over a fence, and goes around a building, some following after him. As soon as I turn the corner the thief who looked to be about 16 years old threw the laptop at my stomachs knocking me to the ground and ran to hop over another fence only to be stopped by a cop holding a gun.

When he hit me and I fell I hit my head on the wall. I sat against the wall trying to catch my breath when Barry ran around the corner seeing the thief being handcuffed and me breathing heavily.

"Y/n! You okay?!" Barry asked kneeling next to me.

"Yep. Nothing like getting punched in the gut to start off my weekend."

"Shit. Well you got the laptop." Barry said.

"The cop got it," I told him pointing to the other side of the fence.

Iris came around the corner. "Y/n. You alright?"

"Peachy."

I stood up after my breathing regulated.

"I'm going to head down to the station, Barry can you give me a ride?" Iris asked.

"Uhhh, sure. Y/n you okay with that? I can take you ho-" Barry started

"No, no I'm fine. Go Barry." I interrupted him. He looked hesitant as if I was gonna break any moment. He should know that I can take a hit by now. Iris grabbed his arm and walked toward her car after they got her laptop.

I started to walk to my car when the cop who got the kid walked over to me.

"You alright? You got hit pretty hard." The cop said.

"I'm fine but thanks officer...." I trailed off.

" Detective Thawne actually." He said proudly.

"Well thanks Thawne," I said walking off to my car.

I was driving through downtown Central City next to the CCPD when the storm was picking up. One minute I was driving in the left lane, the next everything turns black.
