As she runs through the forest, Amelia sees a man crouched over a large rock.
He wears a green cloak which covers his face.
Unfortunately, the cloak does not mask his agonizing screams of pain.
Amelia compassionately squats down beside him to assess the situation.
She notices a large arrow protruding from his shoulder.
Panic and disgust being put aside, she slices a piece of fabric from her sleeve and begins to make a mental plan.
"Sir, I am going to help you. Do you have any alcohol?"
The man nods,"Whiskey... in my sachel."
Amelia rushes to his bag and pours a bit over the wound and on the fabric before putting the flask to his lips.
"Drink this. It will help with the pain," she ushers.
The man reluctantly takes a sip, only his pink lips are revealed from beneath the cloak.
Amelia rolls up her now tattered sleeves and rips the bloody arrow from the man's shoulder.
He screams, which causes her to wince as she throws the arrow aside.
"Put pressure on this while i cut more cloth,"Amelia demands as she ties the fabric to cover his wound.
The man complies while Amelia cuts her other sleeve to make a thicker bandage.
After a few sips of whiskey, the man's painful groans stop.
"Thank you," he says through a few heavy breathes.
Amelia sits beside him, "You're welcome."
"So I should probably explain what happened, yeah?" she notices he has a bit of an accent. Scottish, maybe.
"That would help."
"I live in these woods. Have for years... I was just trying to fetch some water and these lost boys start shooting at me for no reason. Next thing ya know, I'm hit and on the run."
"Well I'm glad you're okay," she responds with a smile.
"What's your name, lass?"
"Amelia. And you?"
The man pulls down his hood to reveal a handsome face. (picture in media)
"My name is James. Now quick question, what is a pretty little thing like yourself doin' out here alone?"
She sighs,"Running, I suppose."
"From problems or a predator?" He inquires.
Amelia looks up at him, "Would you believe me if I said predator?"
James chuckles and shakes his head,"Not in the slightest. Now let me guess, boy trouble? Or is it girl trouble? Personally I indulge both."
She laughs slightly,"Boy trouble."
"Ah, don't tell me you're with one of those lost boys. I used to be with one and I'm almost 100% sure he had everyone attack me," James states.
Amelia chuckles,"Yeah... I have this thing with Felix, Pan's right hand man... and he screwed it up."
"What do you mean?"
"Don't worry about it. I don't want to bug you with my problems."
James looks at Amelia,"You saved my life. The absolute least I can do is let you vent."
So she did.
Amelia told James everything, and he understood.
He seemed to understand her in ways no one else could, and he felt the same about her.
"So I have a question, and you totally don't have to answer," Amelia speaks up.
"Yes, dear?" James replies with a smile.
"Being bisexual, do you have a preference?"
He raises an eyebrow,"Is that the term for liking girls and boys?"
She nods.
He shrugs,"No. I think someone must have a great heart for me to fall for them... and a charming personality. And funny enough, you possess both qualities."
Amelia smiles at him as the sun sets, her cheeks turning red.
"That's very sweet, James."
He nods.
As the sky begins to darken, Amelia starts a small fire.
She and James had agreed to set up camp for the night because his home was too far to trek alone while injured.
"Amelia!"
Her name was being called throughout the forest.
James looked at her,"Is it him? Felix?"
Amelia nods,"Yeah. I think so. James, what do I do? He won't leave for me and he said he doesn't love me."
James sighs,"People say things when they're angry... but if he doesn't go with you and if he doesn't make it right, you know where to find me."
Amelia kisses James on the cheek,"Thank you... for everything."
He nods as she stands up.
"You should be okay in a few hours," she informs him before walking toward the voice calling her.
"Amelia!" Felix continues to yell.
"I'm right here," she responds from behind him.
He rushes to her, but doesn't hold her because he knows she's still mad.
"Amelia, are you okay? I was worried sick!"
"I'm fine," she replies bitterly.
Felix begins to pace, his hands running through his wild hair.
Amelia watches him with amusement, hoping he gets dizzy.
After a bit he stops and turns to face her.
"What were you thinking?" he asks callously.
Amelia crosses her arms,"I was thinking my boyfriend is a piece of garbage who only loves me when he wants some action."
He sighs,"Look, I'm sorry about that."
"Are you sorry that you said it or sorry that I heard it?" her voice begins to raise.
Felix looks down,"I- I..."
"Save it. I'm going back home," she spits.
"No, you're not!" he argues.
"Oh, yeah? Watch me," she marches off.
Eventually she finds Rose swimming in the lagoon, her gorgeous fin flapping around in the moonlight.
"Hey, girl!" she exclaims.
Amelia half smiles,"Hey."
"What's up?" Rose leans her elbows against the surface.
"I'm thinking about going home," Amelia admits, her voice quaking a bit.
Rose's eyes widen,"Really? Like now?"
Amelia nods.
"Wow, okay... uh, I was planning on going back soon... but like in a few weeks," Rose explains.
"Don't rush. I'll meet you back at the vacation spot. James, this guy I met, told me time passes fast here so back home, it's only been a day or two."
Rose smiles at Amelia,"Then I'll see you soon."
Amelia nods and exits to find the one man who can get her home...
Killian Jones.
