Today was the day of the funeral. I wore a black laced dress- it was my mother's- with matching shoes.
The service started at 10 in the morning. Natasha had caught the earliest flight back home. Both Natasha and Emma were crying and their eyes were red.
* the service begins* ( the priest is speaking)
Everyone please be seated.
We are gathered here today to say farewell to Robert Crawford and to commit him into the hands of God.
Robert Crawford was a lover, father and son—
I couldn't carry on listening. All of it was just a bunch of lies. He wasn't a good man. He was a cheater. He wasn't a good father. He was screwed up.
Tears fell down my face. Not because he was gone. It was because he died too easily. Every sin he had committed deserved to be punished. I silently cursed him to go to hell.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize that it was time for the eulogies until Emma gently shook my arm.
" Are you ok? You've been zoned out for quite a long time."
" I'm sorry. I'm just very sad that he's gone. I can't believe it."
" It's ok sweetie. He's going to a better place"Time for the eulogies
Emma:
Robert Crawford was a wonderful man. He was an amazing boss, father and lover. His two daughters Rey and Natasha took in his footsteps and grew into very beautiful and smart women. I am very sure that all of us are going to miss him. But he wanted us to remember that he loves all of us and he doesn't want us to mourn but to celebrate his death.Natasha:
My father always loved Rey and I. He always did what was best for us and he treated everyone equally. He was very upset when my mother passed away. I will always love him and hold him in my heart.Me:
He was a very unique person. He did things his way and he loved Natasha and I very much. He also treated Emma very well...I looked straight at Emma when I said this. I hoped that she knew what I actually meant when I said that. The little slut.
As I walked off. I bit my tongue because what I said wasn't true. None of it was. Except the last part.
The will reading would take place tomorrow. I made a phone call to dad's lawyer - Charles- and told him to meet me at the Cafe near 5th Avenue. I had to discuss something with him about the reading of the will.
