The sun was shining brightly,
I took it as a good sign to start the day happyAs I walk this new road I just discovered,
I met this kid surrounded
By boys and girls of varying ages.
The crowd seemed ecstatic
It's easy to see, they're energetic.
This kid, a girl, sported big smiles
Laughing every once in a while.
They shared stories of each other's past
They've discovered which will be their best pals.Slowly I've witnessed
How this kid turned
From sweet to sour
From genuine smiles to a monster.
She rampantly shared her friends' stories,
With 'important' details only,
Her personal rerun of how it came down. Then, the crowd thinned.
The bright sky dimmed.
One by one, they walked past the kid,
Without turning, not even a glimpse.Nonetheless, the kid continued
Never realizing she's screwed.
A few friends walked side by side with her still.
Some listened as she continue to spill
Some genuine listeners, some pretenders. How sorrowful it is to be her
Not knowing who's fake or true,
How overwhelmed she is
With a company of friends.
People who can't even point out her flaws;
Who will leave her without remorse
Once they're done listening,
Once they're fed up with blabbering.Me? I can only gaze from afar.
I'm just an observer not one of the main characters.
She's down a different road
So am I with my own.
We just met in a crossroad.
But I will not forget this girl,
Nor the realizations that hit me because of her.
I sincerely wish her the best.
But I'm not staying to be her therapist.
