A Bonfire...?

I sat in class. A class from highschool. 'What the fuck? I thought that after highschool I would be safe from these kind of dreams.' I looked to my side to see her. My heart rushed as my eyes quickly moistened. I was about to open my mouth to get her attention when my own was pulled towards the front of the class.

"(Y/n)! Pay attention." The teacher scolded me. I sighed and watched as a piece of chalk began to float. I didn't pay much mind, I kmew I was dreaming... But it was that kind of dream where you can't control anything even though you know something weird is going on, ya know?

The chalk hit the board and begin to emit the loudest chalkboard scratch known to man. "AAAARRH!" I screamed as I put my hands over my ears. I felt myself fade away from the world a bit, but was brought back when it suddenly stopped.

"Damn. They know I'm here."

I looked up at the board and watched as the teacher walked up to me. "You have homework, (Y/n)." I looked in their eyes which seemed to hold another being.

"Just... Me? I'm the only one that has homework?" I asked.

"Yes. Memorize these letters." The teacher grabbed my shoulders as a worried look seeped into her face. "H, R, E-" They looked back in fear as two large figures entered the room. The teacher turned to me, "L,I,Y! REMEMBER TH-" They were cut off when one of the men pushed me back, causing me to fall. It looked as if they pushed a camera off a table, because I was staring at the floor and the legs of the teacher. After a few struggling sounds I heard a glass break and the body of the teacher fell to the ground. The lifeless eyes staring into mine. It scared me but I couldn't move... Like I wasn't real anymore. Then I was picked up, and before everything went off I caught a glimpse of a males face.

I snapped my eyes open as I was met with darkness. With the letters barely ringing in my head, I threw my legs over the edge of the bed, grabbed my phone, and walked over to the trash. I slowly grabbed the paper in order to make as little noise as possible. I grabbed two pencils, and walked out of the dorm, leaving one between the wall and the door in order to keep it open. Suddenly music started to play in the near distance, the same room as before. I ignored it, even slightly thanking it to cover my tracks on opening the paper and writing down the letters. "H...R, E, L, I... what was it, fuck!" I looked around and watched as the door to an apartment creaked open. The music became slightly louder, and I could see someone peer out from inside. My heart began to pound as pressure in my head built up. I rushed back into our dorm and closed the door as quietly as possible. It felt like the room was spinning. I put the paper and looked at the letters. The only word ringing in my mind was why... WHY! I walked to the desk and set the paper down, writing the last letter next to the others. I peered over my shoulder to see Lyla still sleeping soundly. After putting the paper away under my mattress I climbed into bed and slowly dozed off.

-Late November-

"(Y/n)! Wake up its like 2pm!" I was shaken awake by who I'd presume was Lyla. My eyes finally opened band I was face to face with my roommate. "Finally, how long were you gonna sleep." She walked back to her bed and began to text on her phone.

"Well, we don't have a reason to be awake do we? Then why waste the precious sleep time we won't be getting when we finally start going to classes." I sat up and stretched, and cleared my mouth of the disgusting taste of waking up.

"We need to start getting used to getting up, school starts soon. But anyway... While you were asleep I went to the dining hall and met this girl." My form slightly parked at the the thought of Lyla finally socializing and making friends.

"Oh really? That's the first stranger you've talked to this whole time." I jabbed.

"Lies! I talked to your new friends at the library that day. But this girls cool. Her name is Sia, and she invited me to this bonfire tonight. Wanna go with me?" I took a second to process what exactly she was telling me.

"I mean... Sure! I'll go." Lyla smiled. "Thank you! I gotta go talk to her for a little but I'll be back in time to pick you up. So be ready!" She walked towards the door and slammed it on her way out. I sat in almost awe at her mood switch.

I sat on the bed, trying to evaluate how it all happened. "She... invited her to a bonfire..? Why does it this all feel so wrong?" I looked down at my phone to see it turn on to show a notification had been received. I hesitated due to last times escapades.

"B...e.w.are of h-"

"Beware of h...? What the-" before I could finish a loud rummbling of base blared through the room. It must of been the same kids from all the previous times, though this time it was making me losing my train of thought.
