Peter's mind immediately went blank. One second he was rambling, trying to confess his feelings to Penny, the next she was kissing him. When he realized what was happening, he tried his best to kiss her back.
If there were butterflies in both of their stomach's before, now it was a full on zoo. It was as if fireworks had gone off in their heads screaming that this was the peak of their existence. Nothing could top this moment.
It was soft, but full of so much emotion. All of their worries melted away, as they were distracted from reality. Because this was both of their first kiss, they pulled away after roughly 10 seconds, both blushing like crazy.
"You- you like me?" Peter squeaked out, his voice an octave higher than normal.
"It seems that I like both versions of you, sweater and spandex," Penny replied, smiling cheekily.
"About that-"
"Don't. I get why you did it. Obviously it's going to be hard to adjust to everything. But maybe... maybe we can adjust... together?" Penny asked, looking down at her feet, getting embarrassed.
"Yeah. Yeah okay. No more secrets between us?" Peter asked, holding his hand out to shake.
Penny laughed at how awkward he was being. "Okay. No more secrets."
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner," He paused. "About liking you, and also the whole Spiderman thing."
"Listen, I get it. I could not be more proud of you. You are saving people's lives. You've saved my life- on more than one freaking occasion!" Penny beamed.
"All in a day's work, I guess," Peter joked.
"Wait a minute. Every time I've been in trouble, you've been there to save me. Holy shit. Were you stalking me? Dude! You were so stalking me!" Penny realized, another cheeky smile finding it's way onto her face.
If at all possible, Peter went even redder as he tried to splutter out an excuse. "No! No, I was not stalking you! That's crazy! That's not what I was doing at all!" But that was exactly what he was doing, whether he wanted to admit it or not.
"But seriously though? We need more heroes like you, Peter. You save average citizens. The Avengers don't even do that. You're the friendly neighborhood Spiderman, who saves normal people from normal danger. I'm so happy for you," Penny explained, her cheeks getting rosier the more she spoke.
"That means a lot to me. Especially from you, Pen," Peter replied bashfully.
They stood in a comfortable silence, massive smiles on both of their faces. Suddenly Peter's face paled. "We're gonna be late!"
Penny followed him out of the closet, them rushing to gym. As it was the last day, they didn't have to change. They barged through the double doors, relief washing over them as class hadn't started yet. Coach Wilson was nowhere to be seen.
Peter smiled down at her, and Penny blushed slightly. They walked over to where Michelle and Ned were sitting.
Ned groaned annoyed, and handed a 20 dollar bill over to Michelle. Michelle had a massive smirk on her face. Ned muttering something about waiting until the last minute.
"So what have you two been up to?" Ned then asked, faking how upset he was.
"Nothing!" Penny yelped.
"What closet?" Peter slipped out. Penny glanced at him as if to say really dude?
It was very obvious that Ned and Michelle knew that they had kissed, but they weren't going to say anything. It was also very obvious that Penny and Peter knew they knew, but chose to let it go unspoken.
