5. Juice
I got back to her room, two coffees in my hand – I figured tara would want one and if not, hey more for me. I went to open the door but Tig shoved me back out.
"What the fuck." I said almost dropping the coffees. I didn't wanna leave the room as it was, but tara was right I can't just stay in here all the time.
"She's awake." Tig said keeping a firm grasp on my shoulder. I shrugged him off, trying to push past him.
"Good, let me in then!"
"Listen man... I don't know how to tell you this." He sighed. "I know you like her a lot."
"Yeah?" I said as my stomach started doing flips. I had a bad feeling, tig being serious was scary enough.
"She uh..she's... uh. She...is.."
"Don't get a stutter over it, just spit it out Tig!" I sighed.
"She has no idea who we are." He said quickly. "She has no memory of anything."
"What?" I pushed through the door, chibs and Jax leaving.
Jax clapped my shoulder as him and Chibs walked past me exiting the room. Tara was helping Johanna back from the bathroom – she looked even smaller out of the bed I was used to seeing her in. her skin was like paper and looked like she was dying.
Of course, she almost had...
The bruises and cuts- the carved initials right in the V of her breasts – it made me so sad. They had to shave a part of her head, luckily if she wore her hair down it kind of hid it – looked like she did it as a fashion. She would always have a scar from above her ear down to her neck though, but when her hair grows out it won't show.
Johanna looked up at me her blue eyes meeting mine. Tara covered her in the sheet before exiting the room as well – giving me a sympathetic smile and a quiet thank you as she took the coffee and closed the door.
"You don't have to be scared." I sighed putting my coffee on the counter.
"I just... I don't want you guys to hate me." She said starting to cry. "I'm sorry I don't remember – I'm sorry I don't know...""Don't be upset, it's okay. You went through a lot Joey." I said taking her hand, her body shaking.
"Please don't be mad at me."
"We're not mad." I said getting up to hug her. She tensed at first but then she melted into me – her cries slowly dying off.
"You done?" I smiled taking a seat beside her on the bed. "Come on, it's almost time for Biker Mice from Mars."
Her nose scrunched as I turned on the TV – three mice on motorcycles racing across the screen.
"You don't have to say anything Jo, I'm just glad you're okay.. we'll get your memories back."
She nodded sleepily, leaning her head on my shoulder. I moved so my arm was around her and her head was in the crook of my shoulder in a few minutes she was asleep.
We got to take her home a week later, she was still weak and ordered on bed rest – she didn't mind I don't think she was up for too much. Tara said to keep an eye on her, she might go into depression because of the memory loss.
"Alright, got my girl back home... but we still haven't done anything about the MC that did this to her." Clay sighed lighting his cigar.
"we can't bring it here, she is too weak to fight..." Tig said.
