Ross's Pov.

As we got to are table the waiter came. And I told him if we could talk in private for a second. So we went to the kitchen and I gave him the ring. He told the chef that when we ordered are deserts he'll put the ring in there. Perfect every thing is going just as planed.

Maia's Pov.

When we got to are table are waiter came. Ross whispered something in his ear and the waiter left. Ross went up to me and told me he'll be right back. Without replying back he just left. Huh that was weird?

Ross's Pov.

As I headed back to are table Maia gave me a suspicious look. I just ignored her and sat down like nothing happened.

"What was all that about?" she said while raising her eyebrow's.

"Nothing Why you ask."

"Didn't look like nothing." she said suspiciously.

Are waiter came and handed out are menus.

"Hello i'll be your waiter for today. What would you like to eat."

"Um i'll have the dry aged porterhouse steak."

"And for the young lady."

"I'll have the breast of chicken confit." Maia said.

"Would you like any thing to drink."

"Two glasses if water please."

"Okay coming right up." the waiter said and with that he left.

For the rest of the evening we where just enjoying each other's presence. Laughing at each other's jokes and having a great time.

Till the waiter came and asked us what we wanted for desert.

"What would you like for desert today?"

"I'll have the chocolate hazelnut cake."

"And for you Ma'am."

"I'll have the cheesecake with fresh seasonal berries."

The waiter winked at me and I new that was the code. I got this im ready wait am I....

Maia's Pov.

The waiter came back with are deserts and we thanked him.

While I was half way finished with my cheesecake I bit down on something hard i looked at my fork and i saw this beautiful engagement ring. I looked at Ross and I started crying. He must of thought they where tears of joy because he took the ring and knelt down on one knee.

"Maia the first moment I looked into those beautiful brown eye's you got me falling on my knees..."

"Ross." I said in a gloomy tone. I tried to make him stop talking but he kept on going.

"You hypnotize me every time I look at you I wanna spend the rest..."

"Ross." I said a little bit louder he still didn't answer. Ugh can't believe I'm going to do this.

"ROSS!!!" I yelled, finally i got his attention and apparently the whole restaurants attention too but right now I didn't care.

I looked at Ross and he had a confused looked on his face. He looked so funny I could laugh so... focus Maia ugh this is so hard well here goes nothing.

"Ross I'm sorry but no, no I can't marry you." I said practically drowning myself in tears.

"Yes you can Maia it's not that hard just say yes we'll live happily ever after with are kids in a..."

"ROSS I-I Have cancer." I said a little more calmer.

"Ross I have Leukemia."

"What?"

"No you can't how and when did this happened." He said a little harsh while panicking.

"I'll tell you on the ride home can we just please get are check and go." I said while wiping my tears.

"Okay fine, Waiter check please."

"Here you go and congratulations you to."

"Thank you and no where not getting married she said no." Ross said a little depressed while giving him back the check.

"Oh i'm sorry, have a good night thank's for choosing The Capital Grille."

"Thanks, you too."

IN THE CAR

Ross's Pov.

"So when did you know, you know about you having cancer."

"Well remember that time I had a doctor's appointment for my health too see if I'm fine you know not getting sick and all that stuff. The doctor ran tests and that's when he told me that I have Leukemia, that the bone marrow is suppose too produce abnormal white blood cells, which mine aren't functioning properly." Maia said now bawling her eye's out.

I felt bad for Maia why did this have to happen to her out of all the people here in this stupid world it had to be her. I was now shedding tears.

"It's okay Maia we'll get through this together."

"I'll always love you Ross." Maia said slightly smiling.

"I'll always love you too." I said while parking in front of her house and turning off the engine.

"Ross I only have a little bit of day's  left the doctor told me that I had cancer since 5 months ago I'm going to die in a few day's Ross."

"No don't talk like that you'll get through this, you'll survive, I'll help you, I'll always be there for you." I said while crying.

"Just promise me one thing please." Maia said while wiping her eye's.

"I'll do anything for you, anything just name it."

"When i'm not here anymore I want you to find another girl please I want you to be happy leave the past in the past go out, explore, be happy that's all I want for you I want you to be happy, please for me."

I sighed while looking at my lap I don't want to do this but for her i'll do anything.

"Okay for you just for you." I said

Maia was stepping out of her car but before she left I needed to feel those soft lips of her's who know's this might be the last chance i'll get to kiss her.

"Maia wait!"

She turned around and I pulled her close to me moving her lips with mine. We pulled away staring into each other's eye's man those eye's those beautiful eye's.

"I love you."

"I love you to." she said and with that she left.
