**UPDATE: Hey guys! This is future me from 2020. I began writing this in the fall of 2018, so I can definitely say I failed in my weekly uploads! I have written a good bit, but have decided not to publish anymore until I am more satisfied. The good news is that I have a lot to post soon! I am so sorry for the extremely long wait. Can't wait to see what you all think! -HFR **
Prologue:
Emilia's POV
"Okay honey, you're all set!" I smile at my mom as we glance around my new home: a four-bedroom, two-bath, somewhat dirty dorm room. It's wonderful. Really.
My heart thumped loudly in my chest as I tried to ignore what was happening. Calm down, Emilia. You are only moving away from all you have ever known into a place that is nothing like your home. You are only going to be hours away from your family and alone in a new town...
Wow. Great job ignoring the situation.
"-ways, now that everything is moved in, I think it is time for us to leave so you can settle in for your first day of college tomorrow!" Only catching the end of the long rant my mother just went on, I just smiled again. "Sounds like a good idea. Thank you all for coming up here to help me!"
I go through a round of hugs from my mom, sister, and granny. As I try to hang on to my granny for as long as I can, she whispers, "I will always be here for you. You are never alone. I love you". With tear-filled eyes, I whisper back, "I love you" and squeezed her as hard as I could. This woman is my rock, and I am not sure how I am going to be able to be away from her for so long.
After I let my favorite person go, I walk my family out with a heavy heart. As they get into the car and drive off, I wave at them until they are too far away for me to see. When I head back inside, all I can think about is why I thought it was a good idea to rip myself from the comforts of my routine life and throw myself in with the sharks. Thousands of newly adult sharks in a very large ocean...
Did I mention I can't swim?
This is going to be so much fun.

Hey, guys! So, this is my first legit story, and I am going to try really hard to give it my all! This story actually is based on my life, but is exaggerated a little because I'm not THAT interesting! I know this is super short, but it is just a little something to introduce the story! First, I probably will not always say the POV because I am pretty sure the whole story will be in Emilia's POV. Also, I decided to hold out on the background for Emilia because I want to integrate it throughout the story. Anyways, I am working on the first chapter now and will try to give weekly updates. So, see you next week!
