"Komeko, why dont you help? Bring in the laundry." My mom says from the kitchen, slightly tilting her head back, trying to look at me. "Mkay." I say, Sitting up, pulling my dress down.

I walk to the back door and pick up the little laundry basket and push open the door. Our clothes line was far from the house, about five houses down. I look around as i walk, seeing many happy faces, hearing some conversations here and there. The usual.

"Hello Komeko!" I hear the voice of someone familiar. Mrs. Jaegar. yes. I crane my head around, to see the smiling woman who was always so nice to me. "How are you Mrs. Jaegar?" I say, politely. "Great. How are you doing, Komeko?" She asked, sweetly. "I'm amazing! Well I have to get to doing this! Have a good day!" "As to you!" Mrs Jeagar's voice comes from behind me since I'm already running past the third house.

That's when I hear the gigantic thumping noise. Like giant footsteps, inhuman footsteps. I double back, looking up at the fogging sky. Hearing laughter turn to panic. A giant, face covered in muscle of different shades of red and pink appears from above the towering wall.

"THE COLOSSAL TITAN." Several voices shout from different places. Then, a cloud of smoke erupts from the gate, and the giant human's foot appears inside of the wall. I gasp, tears threatening to escape my eyes. Speechless. Then, that's when the titan size multiplies. Several abbarents come racing through the large hole. Smashing houses. They're picking up people by the bunch. I start to cry now, looking up, seeing a blonde titan with a killing smile, stretching from ear to ear, with big, blue eyes, pick up a woman in a nice, flowing dress, her arms flailing behind her.

Then, the fate scares me. It's Mrs, Jaegar. I start to get the tingling sensation of tears behind my eyes. The monster throws her into her dirty mouth and blood gushes from her closed teeth.

Before I know it, my arm is outstretched, reaching for Mrs. Jaegar who is now an angel. "M-mom." I say, dropping the basket. I run back towards my home, grasping onto the little spark of hope in my heart that it's still standing in that area.

It was chaos, several people bumped into me and smoke emitted from every house. Titans roamed the town, tossing people into their mouths. I pass by a woman, crying by someone who was coated in blood, eyes, open in fear. Mouth hung down. The lady was holding his hand, stroking it, crying and whispering something. I gasp again. "I'm so sorry." I mumble, running off, towards my house.

The shreds of hope, they shattered, leaving me in a puddle of despair.

There, in front of me, is the remains of my small like cabin like house we had fun times in. "M-m-mom?" I ask, hearing the fear and suddenness in my own voice.

The reply is heart-wrenching. I hear a slow, quiet, weak whimper. I lift up an ashy, large piece of wood. There, lying in a pool of blood, covered in scratches and with no right arm and left leg, is my mother.

I love her. She takes care of me, loves me. I love her.

"M-mommy." I say, grabbing her pale, left hand, which is limp and cold. "Komeko, you have to go now!" She says, as a black haired, giant green eyed, dark skinned titan peers around a corner and sees us. "LEAVE." She says, tears in her own eyes. "You have to be strong, Komeko." "No, mommy. Not without you!" I cry, sobbing. "If I leave, it'll be with you!"

"Komeko, no. You have to go now. It can see us. Please, baby. I love you so much. Live long." She tells me, containing her river. Her mouth quivering.

"Goodbye, love." She says, letting go of my hand, brushing back a lock of hair covering my eye. "I'm just saying goodnight." I look down at the rubble and destruction. "Beautiful." She said.

I look up finally and see the titan hovering above us, looking at my mother as his hand, reaches down for her disabled body. I back away, slowly and then quickly running in the opposite direction. Trying to wipe the tears from my eyes.

I have to be strong. For mom. I turn a few corners and end up in the tunnel. I sit down, putting up my legs and sobbing more into them.

It happened. Too fast. Why did this happen? I cry.

I can't be strong. I'm too weak. But i will make one promise to my mom. I will join the Recon Corps when I am 13. In a year and be the best soldier I can be! "I can tell you that, mom!" I say, smiling at the roof of the building. "Cross my life." I drag my finger coated in my moms blood across my white dress, drawing a red 'X' over my heart. "For you."
