My fingertips begin to stab into my sweaty palms as I clench my hand to my chest, and the other to my back.
Yes. It had been a year since the attack of the colossal titan. And I was now thirteen. Not tall, but I was thirteen.
I had stayed with my friend, Shintaro Ayo... And I've got to admit I have quite a thing for him. As childhood friends, We did play a lot and staying with him for a rather long year did help strengthen my relationship.
I peered put of the corner of my eye, head still facing the mentor. As I look to see Shintaro, doing the same as me. I smirk. His light walnut colored hair, blue eyes, and his freckles it was just too hard not to giggle.
"READY TRAINEES?" The mentor yells across the colossal field of trainees. We then traveled in an orderly fashion over to the stalls where the horses are contained.
As I begin over to them, and picking my favorite, I catch a glimpse of Eren Jaegar, Mrs.Jaegars son. He seemed determined. I unlock the stall and lead the horse out by the saddle.
I try to get up onto it but the damned food holders were not cooperating with my small, nervous feet. "Argh." I grunt, pushing myself up but fail tremendously and fall to the ground. I blink and a face appears in my field of vision.
It was a girl. With sleek, short black hair and a nice, rather aged red scarf around her neck. "Need help?" She says, with a light but fierce tone of voice. "Yeah, thanks." I smile, as she grabs my hand and pulls me up with a strong force. I massage my shoulder from the pull and observe the girl. "Name's Mikasa. Ackermann, Mikasa."
Mikasa remains emotionless as she says that. "Oh, hi. Um, I'm Komeko. Jan, Komeko." I smile. Still with that emotionless face, Mikasa retorts ,"Sorry if I hurt you." She says. "No problem." I admit kindly.
"We should get to work, the titans aren't all going to drop dead, like a miracle." Mikasa claps a hand on my shoulder and walks away.
Another friend. I did think she was a bit odd though. Judging by her still face, and posture. Plus the unremarkable strength.
My shoulder still throbs with the pain. But Mikasa was right. The titans weren't just going to kill themselves. I head to my horse.
I steady myself this time before I get on the horse, and lunge onto the saddle. VICTORY. I smiled. But everyone was almost gone, except for a girl with a bored expression and a white sweater and a blonde, tight bun in the back of her head, a tall boy with black hair whose face was glistening with sweat from the rays of the sun even though it was freaking cold since it was January.
Just a few inches away, a boy with light blond, short hair already heading out.
I start to prod out of the strange people. And trot into the group of horses by the gates.
