Kung ayaw nya saken, sorry na lang sya pero mas ayaw ko sa kanya!
Nakatingin lang sya sakin with his deep brown eyes. He wasn’t mirroring the horrifying look on my face. Parang wala nga lang sa kanya. It was my little sister who was enjoying the view. Pero kung sabagay, hindi ko naman masisi yung kapatid ko, sa gwapo ba naman nya.
Hinila ko yung kapatid ko pero kahit anong hila ko e pilit pa rin syang nagpupumiglas. I knew this girl had eyes for only pretty boys! Nung una si Nate tapos ngayon si Theo! The little devil even bit me! “Kuya Prince Charming!” She exclaimed who’s already pulling his arms. I closed my eyes in embarrassment and tried to get in between them. Why was she calling him her Prince Charming? Dapat Prince Harming dahil sa gaspang ng ugali at sakit nyang magsalita!
“Den, get inside.” I ordered Den but she remained seated to a spot next to Theo. JUSMIYONG BATA.
“Den ano ba!”
“BUT!”
“Pumasok ka na sa loob. It’s going to be cold soon.” It was Theo’s voice who convinced my sister to finally go inside. Kamusta naman yun. She hugged him tapos pumasok ng room. Wow!
“Tabi. .” sabi ko sa kanya habang naglalakad papunta sa mga boxes na nakatabi.
Until now di ko pa rin makalimutan yung sinabi nyang pang-trophy girlfriend lang ako. Wow naman. Ang beauty ko hindi lang pang-display and di rin ako girlfriend ng kung sino-sino no! This jerk.
The first batch of boxes were as light as feather pero pagdating na dun sa 3rd batch, feeling ko masisira yung buto-buto ko neto. I take a deep breath and then pull my sleeves and bend over, when someone takes the box out of— “Ako na.” The voice said who belonged to none other than Theo.
Hindi nya na ako pinatapos magsalita dahil dumeretso na sya sa loob. He carried all the heavy boxes inside (and even the lighter ones actually). So buong oras, nakatayo lang ako at nakatingin sa kanya. He was still wearing our uniform but I can clearly make out his biceps and triceps. Sexy. AY WAIT ANO BA TONG INIISIP KO.
“Thank you ha.” I said with my sincerest voice when he was done moving the boxes inside our room. He just stood there watching me. Napakagat ako sa lips, tapos medyo naghesitate kung sasabihin ko ba yung nangyari kung bakit we ended up staying in this rooftop. But I don’t want to be a burden to him anymore pati ilang beses nya na rin akong tinulungan. Althouuuugh, wala akong natatandaang oras na humingi ako ng tulong sa kanya, sadyang he was just at the right time, right place and at the right moment where I needed help. Bahala na nga.. “Theo, can you keep—“
“Don’t worry, wala naman akong balak ipagsabi to.” Natuwa ako sa sagot nya. It was not the answer I was expecting to be honest.
“Thank you! Thank you ulit!” Tumango lang ulit ito with his expressionless face. “Anything that I could do for you?” Huminga sya ng malalim at tumitig sa mata ko.
Staring into the eyes of Theodore Santillan, I felt my soul being sucked into a world of oblivion. His were the deepest shade of brown. I never really paid much attention when it came to people’s eyes, but Theo had eyes that lured you in. Staring at him brought a sense of mystery, safety, and even warmth. Ewan ko ba pero biglang tumibok ng mabilis yung puso ko. Oh no.
“Is that a yes?”
“Oo. Oo.” I found myself nodding a few times, even though I couldn’t remember what he just said. “Sabi ko just be good to Jake.”
“Ah,sure. Sure.”
“Okay.” He turned around, marching up to the next door where he was staying. Halos 5 centimeters wide lang kaliit yung nagseseparate sa amin, I wonder if he could hear just how unsettled my heart was.
“Theo!” sigaw ko. I didn’t expect him to turn around but he did, to my surprise.
“Good night! Thank you ulit!” With that, he turned his back and opened his door. I pouted, hmp, hindi man lang nag-good night.
