At 8:30am I was sitting on my plane seat right next to the window as I has booked. There was something calming about the window seat as the plane flew up into the cloud knowing you were about to explore a new country, then when you descended you could feel the bubbles of excitement start to raise in your stomach with anticipation. Plus you were in control of the window blind for when you wanted to sleep, the only negative aspect of the window seat was having to get out to go to the toilet and interrupt the person next to you, even more so when they are asleep but luckily there will only be one person next to me on this flight.

I had been nearly sitting at my seat for ten minutes and the plane was starting to look packed and no one was yet to sit next to me, if it stayed this way it would be fantastic as I could stretch out and possibly fall asleep easier, sometimes I wish I could afford first class because it looks a lot more comfier but then again I am reminded of the people who sit in that section. Just as I think of the man back at check in, my eyes meet him. His eyes are searching the overhead lockers clearly searching for his seat, he looks completely out of place in economy, as he starts to near me, I look down at the safety procedures as I do not want to have another conversation with this man however I could feel his presence standing still. I slightly turn my head to see whereabouts he is and then I find myself eye level with his stomach, he is stretching up most likely placing his luggage in the lockers but my main focus is his tanned stomach that is slightly showing due to his black t-shirt lifting up but before I know it his hands are yanking it down.

"Any chance I can have the window seat?" He says with a grin on his face trying to win me over

"Nope, sorry I booked the window seat"

"Yeah well I booked a first class seat but apparently that does not matter around here" He says with a huff and places his self next to me.

I make sure my belt is securely in place as the flight attendants start to give the safety instructions and even though I have flew a lot of times in my life I still concentrate on the directions they are showing. Unlike someone next to me who is paying no attention at all and is only bothered about his phone. As the plane moves forward I place my Cherry Drop onto the tip of my tongue in hope that my ears will not pop, but by the time the plane reaches the end of the run way it has gone. I never understand why one must suck a hard boil sweet whilst on a plane because they are too nice and I personally always bite into them straight away. Take off had arrived and we were off the ground, looking down I could see the whole of London, I loved travelling from Heathrow as you could see the busy streets from above, the huge amount of tourists walking around near Big Ben and the London Eye. I could never decide if I preferred travelling during the day or on a night, during the day you could see more detail and features of a city but then on the night travelling from a city you could see all the lights and from this height it was an incredible sight. Once the seatbelt light was turned off I comfortably took my trainers off and placed them on the floor before putting my feet under my legs, I retrieved my earphones from my bag and connected them to the TV screen ready to watch a film.

As I slowly pierced my eyes apart I realised I must have fallen asleep during the film, as I look at my watch I realised I had been asleep for nearly four hours. After removing my earphones from my ears I looked around the plane until my eyes landed on the man sitting besides me.

"They brought breakfast around whilst you were sleeping so I kept yours on my tray" I was taken by surprise by this gesture but said thank you and took the food from him

"Listen I don't usually act like this, I'm just stressed with work then it's important I get to Australia for family reasons. Anyway I wanted to apologise for my behaviour" Just as I was about to reply we felt the plane slightly dip, I looked at the man with wary eyes in hope that it was a one off thing however I was wrong as the seatbelt light flicked back on. I was quick to put food tray on the floor along with my feet and put my seatbelt on, just as I heard the click to insure my seatbelt was on the plane dipped again. Without thinking I grabbed onto the strangers hand for safety but instead of him acting like the arrogant man I first met he rubbed his thumb over my hand. Another 20 seconds later the plane dipped this time even further down, by this point there were people screaming around the plane, I could feel tears starting to form in my eyes. This was going to be my death! I am going to miss my little sister getting married! I felt my arm being lifted up and the stranger was lifting the arm rest that separated us and without asking he pulled my body towards his chest, comforting me as I let the tears fall freely onto his top

"Listen everything is going to be okay. It's just turbulence" He tried to reassure me and I was thankful for the thought but it was not helping. The people surrounding us continued to scream as the plane tipped slightly to the right. The motion must have gone on for another five minutes before the captain finally spoke through the speakers

"We would like to apologise for the scare there, it seemed we hit severe turbulence but for the rest of your journey it will be safe, unfortunately we have fallen 15 minutes behind schedule but we should be able to catch up and get you all to Australia on time. Thank you for your patients and enjoy the rest of your flight" It was only when the captains voice disappeared that I realised I was still attached to the stranger besides me, giving him an awkward smile I slowly started to move closer to the window

"Sorry about my reaction there, my baby sister is getting married in a couple of days and everything started to run through my head. I'm Elise by the way" I stuck my hand out for him to shake. We had bumped into each other many times already today so it was only polite to introduce myself, plus we had hours left on this flight and it was best to forget about this morning and hopefully be able to talk to someone instead of staring at the small screen in front of me on the chair. As he placed his hand in mine he let out a low chuckle

"Don't worry about it, I basically live on planes, you get use to the turbulence eventually. I'm Connor" He said with a grin, he was a completely difference person compared to who I was talking to this morning

"Ah yes, I knew your face but didn't know your name" I admitted, the only reason I know him is from front pages of magazine and they rarely tell the full truth of a story

"Bit of advice about celebrities, don't listen to everything you hear in the media but I do have to ask how old is this sister of yours because you look young so she must be getting married very young"

"She's only 20, I think it's too young but her husband to be is five years older then her and ready to get serious and asked her to marry him after eight months of being together" After that scary moment with the turbulence I started to open up to this man thinking he would be the last person I ever speak too. From there we had an enjoyable flight full of laughter and stories about our past, it certainly made the time go fast.
