My stress levels were through the roof and it was only 7 o'clock in the morning. I had triple checked my bag and suitcase before locking the door to my apartment ready to leave for the airport as I did not want to be half way across the world and realise I had forgotten something important, however there was no need to rush around due to my taxi being 20 minutes late. Eventually the taxi pulled up at the airport and I quickly paid the driver before heading inside to find my check in desk. There was only one man checking in as every customer had probably already checked in and were in the lounge area relaxing before a 28 hour flight. As I walked closer to the desk I could see the woman's cheeks blush from embarrassment as she stared intensely at the computer. I stood patiently behind the yellow line waiting for her to finish with the other customer but as I stared around the airport trying to calm my nerves, my attention got diverted back in front of me as the man raised his voice. His posture looked extremely angry as his shoulders moved up and down rapidly, I could see his knuckles turning white as he held onto his carry-on luggage.
"How can there be no first class seats? My manager pacifically said she booked me one last week" He sounded like a stuck up brat, I glanced at my watch knowing time was not on my side today as I only had one hour to check in, go through security and find my correct gate and from past experience going through security was never a good moment for me. Every time I will forget something such as a piercing or I have left my belt on then I have to stand at the side and get examined by security which always made me feel guilty, as every customer watches you and it is an uncomfortable situation especially when there is only men working that day, but I will not say anything in case they take my plane ticket off me. As the man continued to argue I knew I had to pluck up the guts to say something or I would miss my flight and my sister would be mad."Excuse me. Could you just sit in economy class for this one flight and hurry up because some of us need to check in for our flight in an hour" As the words left my mouth it sounded a lot harsher then it was meant to and from the look on his face he did not like it
"Do you know who I am?" He asked. I stared at his face unsure if it was a serious question so I studied his face trying to pick out features to see if I recognized him, I only left school seven years ago so surely I would recognize someone from school. I could only just see his hair due to him wearing a baseball cap backwards, which I absolutely hated, but there was no doubt his hair was jet black and slightly curly. As I looked at the man from head to toe there was nothing I recognized until I met his eyes, those piercing blue eyes I had seen somewhere before, I remember commenting on them to one of my girlfriends, we were amazed how someone could have that colour for eyes and that's when I remembered. Me and Claire were watching MTV showbiz, he is a singer or something to do with that industry, that makes sense for the attitude towards the first class seat.
"Yes, you're that arrogant singer, now can I please check in then you can sort your first class seat problem" I said, without another word he turned around and muttered "I'll have that seat but only because it's an important flight for me but I need to be treated as if I was in first class" and with that he walked away.
