an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a divine or supernatural figure.

Harry found out he was a horcrux, and found out that everyone on the light side was using him to be a sacrifice

This follows the actual story plot until when Harry tells Ron and Hermione he's going to the forest

Teddy isn't born because Remus was never with Tonks and instead he was with Sirius

This story includes light side bashing, including anyone who is on that side, so this is a warning!!

Harry needs a hug :(

I'm genuinely sorry about how long this took me, I had really bad writer's block, thank you all for staying patient

Harry was in pure disbelief as he sat on the steps in front of the Headmaster's desk, Pensieve floating above his head like a dark cloud.

He couldn't be a horcrux, could he? They were vile objects, fabricated by murder, made by a snake...

The thought turned his stomach.

Everything he had been taught by his mentor, that the dark side was evil and that Voldemort was the devil incarnate, was dashing around his head like bullets in a war zone. He was helping a man so evil stay alive, prolonging his days and making it impossible for the people Harry loved to make it out of this war.

It was decided, then. Harry couldn't keep living if his life put all the people he cared for at stake. He'd have to let Voldemort kill him.

With a determined step, Harry carried himself away from the Headmaster's office, walking down the twisted stairways.

Voldemort had ordered a cease fire for the time being, so the castle was eerily silent due to everyone being in the Great Hall. Harry almost wished he could still hear screaming— then, he wouldn't have to focus on the large blood stains on the floor and scorched marks on the wall.

It felt like he was walking through a cemetery, and it filled him with guilt and grief. Out of respect, he kept his steps silent.

He supposed he'd be the next to join them.

As he walked down the set of steps that would take him to the Great Hall, he saw two figures sitting huddled together, one with bushy hair and the other a redhead. Ron and Hermione.

"D'you think he's realized it yet?" Ron asked, voice twinged in annoyance.

Wait. Were they talking about Harry?

Hermione snorted, a sound that Harry was fairly certain he had never heard her make. "He has to have figured out he's a horcrux by now. Merlin, the boy's an idiot, but he's not completely braindead."

Harry frowned. Wow, rude. But they couldn't be talking about him. Even though Hermione was admittedly smarter, there was no way she'd say that about him.

And how did they know he was a horcrux? Wasn't that something you'd tell someone?

Just to be sure, Harry stood still, eavesdropping. He was walking to his death, it wasn't like he was in a rush.

"Well yeah, but how do we know he'll sacrifice himself? I wouldn't."

"Because he thinks we love him," Hermione answered, saying the word love like it was poison. "He'd think we'd do it for him, Ronald, remember what the Headmaster told us? Merlin, if I got a raise in the money we were paid to be friends with him, I'd kill him myself."
