"Niall! It's here!" Barbara said excitedly. I walked into my kitchen and saw her smiling at a letter. I swallowed lightly and reached for the envelope with shaking hands. "She grasped my hands. "It's just a report card sweetie." She tried to reassure me. My head slowly nodded.

Third quarter report cards meant that if I screwed this up, it was over. "It's hard to believe that University is so close I can see it, but a million miles away." I said my voice shaking. "I'll open it." She said and took the envelope. The letter opener tore through the envelope. Oh god... "Niall," she turned the paper "straight A's!"

Mom was first to here. Even though I got my own apartment, she is still the first to know. A party was mentioned but I don't want to get a big head until fourth quarter.

I smiled as I got dressed in a blue tee shirt with light blue skinny jeans. Barbara kept telling me how proud she was. Everything is perfect.

We pulled up to the school in my black GMC. I walked up to school with Barbara around my arm and a smile on my face. We stopped at her locker for her books. "So I think maybe a small BBQ, I know you said you said no parties but this a big deal Ni!" I sighed and looked at her. She smiled at me and gave me huge eyes. I sighed. "How about we have 5 friends? That's it!" She said. "3." I said. She sighed. "Fine, but I am still bragging about you." She said pulling my collar and giving me a light kiss. "See you later nerd." She said as I walked to me locker. "Later!" I yelled behind me.

English was first. It was one of the easiest things for me. Considering I have the best partner. I looked around the class for Louis but he wasn't there yet. The only person was Harry. He looked at me. More like glared. Dark circles under his eyes, red plaid shirt down to his wrist, black skinny jeans, gray converse. "Problem Horan?" His voice deep and dull. I was pale like him but he seemed to outshine a tucking Irish man. My head shot down and I darted to me seat.

Louis walked in laughing at someone in the hall. He sat next to me and started at me. "So?" he asked. I looked at him. "Straight. A's." I said. his mouth dropped. "You?" I asked him. "Two B's, one C, the rest As." He shrugged. "What was the C in?" I asked. "Geometry." I nodded.

School went on till 5th period. Lunch. I never ate in the cafeteria. I always go to a class or the library. Today I decided to go to the art room. I knocked on the door.

Mrs. T opened the door and was surprised. "Mr. Horan, why do I get such a treat?" She said smiling. I laughed lightly. "Well my report card came in and-" "Ah, Barbara told me. Straight As. Good job." She said cutting me off. "Thank you. Actually I got my lowest grade in here. It was at A- at the edge of B+ and I was wondering why." Her eyes grew wide. "Well, I never thought I would get the chance to tell you that!" She said. "Come in." I saw a empty class room beside Harry in the back corner perched on the window sill buried in a sketch book.

"Don't worry about him." Mrs. T assured me. I sat at the table and looked at her. "You got that grade because you are very close minded. You only understand the mechanics. Math, science, and even history. English comes easy to you when it is an essay. I can imagine you are gonna struggle with English this last quarter because it is a creative writing." I furrowed my eyebrows but continued to listen. "You don have a imagination." She said. I nodded slowly. "So how do I fix that?" I asked. A muffled laugh came from Harry. Ignoring him I looked at Mrs. T. "Imagination isn't something you can get from studying Niall!" She said as if it was obvious.

She let out a sigh. "I am putting you with one of my top to try and inspire you." I nodded. "Niall you doing okay?" She asked. "Uh, yeah. I just never had a tutor..." I mumbled. "Don't worry. He comes off as a sick but he's quite good kid." She whispered. "What?" I asked. " Harry!" She yelled. My body turned around. The boy walked over. "Your new assignment is Niall." She said proudly.

"Excuse me?" we said in sync. No. No. Not Harry. Anyone but him.
