They streets are a lot more like home then the homeless shelter were you wait to be pick up by a happily married couple or you wait for any couple or anyone to take you because living in that place to me was torture. It was like every minute of every day the puky green walls were caving in on me. Like they wouldn't  let me out. I was trapped. But now I'm free and I'm my own boss . I don't have to lesson to those morons that bossed me around.  But now I'm feeling lonely and desperate for something to eat. Good  thing I stole some pasta and meatballs from the kitchen before I left.

As soon as I was done eating, I  went for a little walk to think about what I would do next.

Should I think about going back?  No of course not. Should I look for someone to trust? No I was on  was always on my one dependent on one person. Me.

Just as I was walking down an ally, this man approached me.

"Hey there kid you got any cash on you?" he spoke in a raspy voice.

" No I'm afraid not, sorry" I replied in a kind of scared voice.

What was I scared of? That I was all alone with no one to help me if he started to hurt me? No I could fight my way out of it.

" Come on you must have some somewhere in that jacket of yours"  he spoke as he reached in my jacket pocket.

" Don't touch me!" I  yelled violently at him.

But he wouldn't stop he kept  going through my pockets. Just then I saw  a shadow come out of nowhere. At first it  kind of spooked me and then once I saw the face of the shadow I knew I was saved.

" Put your hands down on  the ground he shouted at the man.

It was  a lean mean cop fighting machine. He picked up that  guy by the coat like he weighed nothing. And the first thing he said to me was....." Are you OK,  little girl?".
